Siddharth Roy Kapur is an Indian film producer. He is the founder and MD of Roy Kapur Films and President of Film and Television Producers Association of India. He is the husband of Bollywood actress Vidya Balan.

Siddharth Roy Kapur was born on Friday, 2 August 1975 (age 45 years; as in 2020) in Bombay (now, Mumbai). His zodiac sign is Leo. He did his schooling from Mumbai’s GD Somani Memorial School and went to Sydenham College to pursue his B.Com. He was good at studies in his school days, and he was Head Boy at his school. While in college, Siddharth headed the Dramatic Society and edited the annual college magazine. In his college days, he did a summer internship with Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV. After completing his studies, Kapur obtained a Master’s Degree in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) Mumbai.

Siddharth was married to his childhood friend, Aarti Bajaj, but their marriage did not last long. He later tied the knot with a television producer, Kavita. However, the two divorced in 2011. Siddharth married Bollywood actress Vidya Balan on 14 December 2012.

Career
Siddharth Roy Kapur started his career as a Brand Manager with Procter & Gamble Company in Mumbai. He later joined Star TV’s strategic planning department. After that, he moved to Hong Kong for Star TV’s Newscorp Executive Development Program. After that, he moved to Mumbai and worked on the marketing of the reality game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati.” He later worked as a Regional Marketing Manager for the chain. In 2002, he again moved to Hong Kong and was promoted to Vice President after a year. He was the youngest Vice President of Star TV at that time. At the Hong Kong headquarters, Kapur leads the Central Marketing & Creative Services team.
In 2005, he was offered to join UTV as Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications, which he gladly accepted. While working at UTV, Siddharth headed the marketing panel of various films, including “Rang De Basanti,” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla.”
In January 2008, Kapur took over as CEO of UTV Motion Pictures. He is responsible for all aspects of Development, Production, Marketing, Distribution and Syndication. Under his leadership, he produced some of the most successful films of the decade, including “Taare Zameen Par,” “Jodhaa Akbar,” “Fashion,” “Paan Singh Tomar,” “Kai Po Che,” “The Lunchbox,” and “Chennai Express.” In 2014, he was promoted to Managing Director of Disney India.
In 2017, Siddharth resigned from Disney and established his own production house, “Roy Kapur Films.” His first film production was “The Sky Is Pink.” He has also produced the Netflix series “Yeh Ballet.”

- His hobbies include reading, traveling, and watching movies.
- As a child, Siddharth was obsessed with movies. He shared in an interview that his grandparents lived near the Strand Cinema in Mumbai, and he used to urge his grandparents to watch movies. He also shared that he often forced his parents to buy black tickets for him.
- In 1994, Siddharth interned under Ronnie Screwvala in a small basement production house in Worli, Mumbai. During that period, he used to earn Rs. 2000 for a month.
- Siddharth met Vidya Balan for the first time during the Filmfare Awards Function. It was the filmmaker, Karan Johar, who introduced the two.
