The death of singer Sinéad O’Connor was announced on Wednesday. The singer reportedly died on Tuesday. Not many details about his death were reported at the time of the announcement.

O’Connor, 56, was “found unresponsive at her London home” by police, the BBC reported earlier Thursday. The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer was found “unresponsive” when he was found, and was “pronounced dead at the scene.”
An autopsy for the singer has yet to be conducted and this could reportedly take “several weeks” to complete. In addition, the Coroner’s Court in South London reported “no medical cause of death” had been issued at the time.

Pretend frontwoman Chrissie Hynde (pictured above with a young O’Connor) made an appearance on BBC Radio 2, and called O’Connor “really fun,” adding she was “glad” O’Connor was “out.” from the earth’s pain O’Connor suffered openly.
“It’s sad, but I’m happy for him,” Hynde said.
The “Precious” singer also explained how she met O’Connor.
“I did a big concert for Linda McCartney together when she died, and Sinead was a part of that and she was a riot to hang out with,” he said. “He’s a fun guy, but he’s always fishing for something and screwing it up.”
Hynde later said, “He’s had a tough time in the last few years,” adding “He’s, without question, in a better place because he’s a soft-hearted person. So fly with the sweet angel.” (per Express.co.uk)

O’Connor’s passing comes after the “Mandinka” singer lost her son to suicide in January last year.

He called her “Love of my life, lamp of my soul,” in his last tweet. O’Connor has also posted a photo in which she is seen hugging her son, and continued, “We are one soul and two parts. She is the only person who has ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without her,” she wrote. ( via The New York Post)

The singer’s family released a statement announcing his death on the BBC and RTE on Wednesday.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. His family and friends are devastated and have asked for privacy at this very difficult time,” the statement said. (via The New York Times)
