Janelle Brown has no regrets about leaving her ex-husband, Kody Brown, but her happiness is eclipsed by her excitement for Christine Brown’s new marriage.
The woman rose to fame as part of a polygamous union showcased on the TLC reality TV series “Sister Wives.” After leaving their plural marriage, Christine turns to monogamy with David Woolley — a romance Janelle believes her friend needs to repair the scars Kody caused.
Janelle Brown Subtly Dismisses Kody As A Bad Partner Compared To Christine’s New Husband
Janelle’s love for Christine’s newfound happiness resonates throughout Sunday’s part 2 of the “Sister Wives: Christine & David’s Wedding” special. The reality TV star, who left Kody after his friend, subtly insulted the patriarch as a bad husband compared to Woolley.
He implies that Christine’s new lover is his saving grace after a painful experience in his old union with the polygamist. Praising the couple’s love for each other, Janelle said:
“To me, the fact that they clearly, openly love each other is almost like a healing balm that soothes the wounds that Kody did.”
Meri Brown, the third of Kody’s four wives to leave a plural marriage, echoed similar sentiments about Christine’s rocky relationship with their ex-husbands. She says the newlyweds deserve Woolley after experiencing Kody’s verbal abuse.
“I think he deserves it, especially after the last few years with all the things that have come out that Kody has said,” Meri said. “He deserves it. She deserves to be happy and have someone who truly loves her.”
Janelle and Meri’s words are not far from the truth, as Kody previously claimed he was “forced” to marry Christine and has been vocal about his disinterest in her.
Despite his harsh views on his ex-wife, the father of 18 also gave his blessing in the episode. “I wish them all the happiness that life can give them. That’s my honest feeling, and that’s all,” he said, adding:
“Christine had a goal in mind and the hope of finding a soul mate, and she put a lot of emotional energy into it. And I think she did something magical that caught her attention. I think they might be a match made in heaven, and I hope they have a day beautiful.”
Christine and Kody ended their marriage in 2021, with the mother of six walking down the aisle two years later. In October 2023, she and Woolley said their vows in a stunning outdoor ceremony in Moab, Utah’s Red Cliffs Lodge.
Prior to the ceremony, Christine admitted that the planning process had some stressful parts. “There’s so much moving work with people coming and not coming, and then you’re always going to offend somebody,” she explains, to which Woolley chimes in, “There’s always family drama.”
Rather than risk any “drama” on their big day, the guest list only included one star from the show “Sister Wives”. Kody, Meri, and his only remaining wife, Robyn, were excluded from the ceremony, with only Janelle Brown in attendance to watch Christine and Woolley begin their new chapter.

Two months after her wedding to Woolley, Christine updated fans on her new life in a heartfelt Instagram post. She shared a stunning selfie, rocking a pink top that highlighted her face glowing in the sun.
The 51-year-old paired her stylish outfit with sunglasses, gold hoop earrings and a heart-warming smile. If her joy didn’t shine through the screen, she made sure fans knew how happy she was in the caption of the post.
Christine explained that after leaving a polygamous union for a monogamous relationship, she worried about losing her independence. However, Woolley not only removed his insecurities but also made him happier. In his words:
