An animal shelter is honoring Janelle Brown’s late son, Garrison Brown, in a sweet way.
In the days since Janelle and her ex-husband Kody announced the death of their fourth child, many fans have shown them by donating to animal shelters.
Accordingly, one of the affected shelters, located in Garrison’s hometown of Flagstaff, Arizona, shared their plans to host a “Cat Adoption Room” as part of their tribute to the 25-year-old.
Humanitarian High Country Expresses Thanks for Unexpected Donations
It’s no longer news that Garrison was a huge animal lover and even bigger cat rescuer until his death earlier this month. Therefore, it is only natural for his fans to make donations to several animal shelters, including High Country Humane.
Thanks to their generosity, the organization has received nearly $13k in donations, which will help them feed “over 150 homeless animals.”
Taking to social media to break the news, the animal rescue facility uploaded multiple images showing different cats and flyers for their upcoming adoption rooms.
“Today, we remember and celebrate the life of Garrison, an incredible friend and cat lover, whose kindness touched the lives of all who knew him, both two-legged and four-legged,” High Country Humane began in their lengthy Instagram caption.
After realizing how “heartbreaking” it was to “see donations in his name continue to pour in,” the shelter shared their appreciation “to those who have donated.”
Cat Dad ‘Shows the Purest Love’
Next, they revealed another update declaring that they plan to sponsor “all cat adoptions for the remainder of March, and name our Cat Adoption Room in honor or Garrison and his 3 cats, Catthew, Patches and Ms. Buttons.”
They later confirmed that their “5 Year Anniversary & Founder’s Celebration” will see them “unveiling plaques and naming rooms” on Saturday, March 23rd in the lobby of High Country Humane.
“Garrison’s legacy is compassion, laughter, and unconditional love. Her spirit lives on in every meow, in every comfortable lap sleep, and in the contented purr of the cat she adores. Garrison showed us the purest form of love, teaching us that every cat deserves a chance at a loving home,” the animal shelter added.
They concluded by acknowledging that although Garrison may have left this world, he will always hold a cherished place in their hearts, remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his love for all cats.
Fans Fascinated By Garrison’s Posthumous Influence
Almost 24 hours after High Country Humane’s post went live, it had received more than 10k and nearly 200 comments from Garrison’s amazed fans.
“Garrison leaves behind a trail of love and kindness,” one social media user wrote along with a red heart emoji, while another said, “I’ve watched Garrison grow over the past 14 years. I feel like I know him. Such a kind and loving soul. It’s great to see his legacy continue in such a positive way. I think he would be proud!”
A third person detailed, “It’s amazing to see how many lives Garrison touched. I watched him grow up, like so many others. Good son, brother, uncle.”
Likewise these online people exclaim, This is the sweetest!! Garrison, you have touched so many lives! You will be truly missed!,” and another commented, “This is so beautiful. His legacy lives on. The definition is never forgotten!”
Kind Action From Fans Brings Janelle Brown ‘To Tears’ Again
Although genuine, the outpouring of love and support was not what Janelle expected.
In fact, when the “Sister Wives” star heard about the donation being made to High Country Humane and another shelter, Ark Cat Sanctuary, she was thrilled. In a recent post shared via Instagram, Janelle stated:
“have shed tears again. I was told about everyone’s donation to @highcountryhumane @arkcatsancutary in Garrison’s name. Thank you for all your generosity. It means a lot. The cats he took from both agencies were very important to him. He loves being a cat dad.”
Above the heartfelt message are two photos — while the first features three of Garrison’s cats, the second showcases him and one of them in a mirror selfie.
Authorities Suspect No Foul Action In Janelle Brown’s Son’s Death
Janelle’s son tragically died on Tuesday, March 5, in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he was living independently after moving out of the family home. Officers were dispatched to Garrison’s residence that morning in response to a report of a death.
Garrison was pronounced dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on arrival. Authorities have revealed that Garrison’s brother, Gabriel, was the one who found her lifeless body.
At the time of The Blast’s initial report, no foul play was suspected, and it was still unclear whether a suicide note had been left. However, an investigation has been initiated to reveal the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
