Smeep Kang is an Indian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter known for his work in Pollywood and Bollywood. He is very popular for doing comedy films, some of which have become the highest grossing Pollywood films.

Harsmeep Singh Gurcharan Singh Kang aka Smeep Kang was born on Tuesday, January 30, 1973 (age 50 years; in 2023) in Patiala, Punjab, India. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He completed his schooling at Yadavindra Public School, Patiala. He played cricket and was a member of the Punjab Under-16 team in the Vijay Merchant Trophy in 1991 and won the National Championship in Cuttack, Odisha. He pursued his Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering at Punjab University, Chandigarh from 1994 to 1998. While studying in college, he started working in films; however, after finishing college, he moved to Mumbai and became a marketing professional to achieve financial security. He continued to work in the film and TV industry, and when he realized that he was earning more from acting than from his marketing work, he became a full-time actor.

She went to an audition for her debut film only to meet Jaspal Bhatti; however, manager Kuldeep Sharma liked her look and asked for her picture. Smeep provided his passport-sized photograph, and he was eventually cast in the film and shot for it from 1996 to 1998 while studying in college. He later acted as Pal Jindal in the 2006 film Ek Jind Ek Jaan, as Smeep in the 2008 film Chak de Phatte, as Mr Bhullar in the 2018 film Carry On Jatta 2, as a Producer in the film Naukar Vahuti Da and as Jeet in the film Band Vaaje, the second -both in 2019.

- Smeep Kang revealed during the trailer launch of Carry on Jatta 3 that he used to set up a pav vada shop near Jogeshwari station in Mumbai because his career was not going well. The name of the shop is Choti Bites. On hearing this, popular Indian actor Aamir Khan, who was present during the trailer launch, praised Kang’s courage and dedication to his work.

- Popular Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal reveals the beginning of Kang’s first big hit film Carry On Jatta. Grewal said that he once went to see the movie Chak De Phatte Kang; however, the theater was empty, and he had to convince his friends to watch at least the first 10 minutes. Grewal and his friends loved the movie and watched the complete movie. When he tries to call Kang, Kang has changed his number; however, he somehow managed to nab it and worked in Carry on Jatta which went on to become the highest grossing Punjabi film of the year.

- His film Carry On Jatta was remade in Odia, Telugu, Bangladeshi and Bengali languages.
- On 13 August 1993, he filed a case in the Punjab & Haryana High Court against the Punjab University’s decision not to allow him to study Chemical Engineering. Kang had appeared for the Common Entrance Examination under the sports quota and secured 53.5 marks. He cleared the interview; however, when it came time for the trial, the Sports Director did not take the trial and did not allow it at all. He filed a case against this decision, and the Court ordered the University to grant him admission. This case is cited as an example in the third chapter, Education and Student Rights, in the law course of North Bengal University, Siliguri, West Bengal.
- He suffered from depression for two years from 2009 to 2010.
- Famous Punjabi comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi described Smeep Kang as very passionate about his work. When Kang wrote the script for the film Carry On Jatta, Gippy Grewal wanted to buy the script; however, Ghuggi talked to Kang that he should not sell the script and direct the film, and Ghuggi convinced Grewal to act in the film instead of buying the script and making the film with any other director.
