Vallow Daybell, wearing an orange Maricopa County Jail jumpsuit, made his initial appearance in court Thursday morning, which lasted just three minutes, the East Idaho News reported.

Judge Tracy Nadzieja arraigned Vallow Daybell and denied him bail pending his next hearing scheduled for December 7.

Vallow Daybell spoke several times during the hearing, asking the judge whether the two cases against him would be combined, or handled separately.

“They are two separate cases but they will be handled in the same trial,” replied Nadzieja. “They are two separate cases so you will have two separate proceedings going forward as it goes to trial.”

Soft-spoken and smiling a few times, Vallow Daybell also asked if a lawyer would handle both cases against him.

“At this time, you will probably have a lawyer represent you at this particular hearing,” the judge said.

Vallow Daybell, who previously claimed to be a goddess sent to usher in the apocalypse, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in Arizona.

One of the cases involved her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, who in July 2019 was shot and killed by his brother, Alex Cox, in suburban Phoenix.
