On August 29, the comedian’s name was trending and many believed it was due to some very sad news.

His name started trending as the official Twitter account for “Saturday Night Live” issued a social media outcry from fans.
The tweet read, “Who do you want SNL to be? Let us know in a reply.”

As you can tell where this is headed, a large number of people answered with “Carol Burnett.”
This led many to believe that something wrong had happened.

The Internet Panicked When His Name Started Trending
“Carol Burnett is trending and you’re all scared of me. They just want him to host SNL. How in the world was this comedy genius not given this platform,” tweeted one fan.
“Seeing Carrol Burnett trending and it’s because people want him to host SNL. show I’m going to have a sad moment there,” wrote one worried fan.

Fortunately, Burnett’s name has been trending for the opposite reason.
The 89-year-old icon is alive and well!

Some even demanded that Burnett get a “Betty White level of respect.”
