Sofia Vergara’s husband Joe Manganiello has called off the couple’s wedding – claiming they officially split just two weeks ago.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the famous actor filed for dissolution of marriage in Los Angeles County Court citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.
Surprisingly, Manganiello said the famous couple only separated on July 2, 2023. Usually, a public announcement of a separation comes after months or even years of back and forth before deciding to end the marriage. In this case, the date seems to coincide with the news of their breakup that was leaked to the media.
In the filing, Joe claimed the former couple had a prenuptial agreement and any spousal support would be guided by that document. Child support is not an issue in this case, as the two do not share any minor children.

As for the couple’s property and assets, Joe said he wants to maintain his “earnings and accumulations before the marriage, during the marriage, and from and after the date of separation.” Apparently, the prenup states who owns what in the family.
The famous couple announced their separation on social media, releasing a statement saying, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care deeply for each other, we respectfully ask that you respect our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
A source added, “Sofía and Joe have grown apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”
The former couple did not reveal the issues that may have exploded their marriage, but there are stories reported about Vergara’s partying habits. According to several news outlets, Joe has sobered up after experiencing alcohol addiction in his 20s. But, Vergara likes to drink casually and it’s hard for her husband to handle her.

Adding, “Sofia really enjoys cocktails and drinks with her girlfriends. It was one of the ways she let her hair fall. He always is. He went out to meet people at their homes and even organized small parties at his place. For Joe, it’s gotten harder over the last few years.”
Sofia has yet to respond to the divorce.
