Soma Laishram was born on Sunday, January 5, 1992 (age 31 Years; in 2023) in Keishampat Dhobi Machu Leirak, Imphal, Manipur. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. Career
Soma Laishram worked in many Manipuri teleplays, theater shows and dramas as a child artiste. In 1999, he started hosting television programs on Doordarshan Manipur (DDK Imphal). During his teenage years, Soma worked as a newsreader in a private news channel in Manipur. He had to quit his job after his father died. He then started working with Neena Takhellambam, a famous choreographer, who is Soma’s cousin. According to Soma, Neena groomed her to become a model.

In 2009, Soma participated in a beauty pageant called ‘Orange Queen’ and won the title of ‘Best Catwalk Stage.’ She then participated in the 8th Mega Miss North East pageant held in Guwahati in 2010 and won the ‘2nd Runner Up’ and ‘Best Traditional Costume’ titles.

After competing in several beauty pageants, she began working as a model. Currently, she is featured in the music video of the Manipuri song ‘Hey Girl’ with Mahes Thounaojam. Controversy
Banned From Manipuri Film Industry For Three Years
In September 2023, Soma Laishram was banned from acting in films for three years by Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), a civil group in Manipur. The ban was imposed after Soma took part in a cultural event as a show stopper in New Delhi, despite requests for people to refrain from doing so due to ongoing unrest in Manipur. On September 16, 2023, Soma Laishram spoke about the issues in Manipur and called for peace during the last event of the North East Students’ Festival in New Delhi. This ban sparked controversy in the Manipur film industry.
