Sonam started playing cricket at the age of 13 where she used to play with older boys. After spotting his talent, his brother Aman Yadav helped him join cricket practice nearby.

Career
Sonam Yadav first played for Uttar Pradesh at the state level and then she was selected for the New Zealand series where she took six wickets in four matches. Then in December 2022, Sonam was selected in the upcoming 2023 Under-19 Women’s World Cup.
