On Wednesday morning, actress Sophie Turner took to Instagram to release a joint statement about her divorce from Joe Jonas.
The brief joint statement was released just a day after the Jonas Brothers filed for divorce, following reports that he had been spotted without his wedding ring.

In a brief Instagram statement, the former couple slammed reports that it was anyone’s fault in the marriage and called the split a “mutual decision.”
“A statement from both of us: After four wonderful years of marriage, we have decided to end our marriage amicably. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, this is truly a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone will respect our desire for privacy for us and our children,” the statement said.
The split surprised some fans but it didn’t surprise many in the industry. A source familiar with the couple told People magazine that the divorce was not a “shock” to many friends because they had spent “all summer apart.” The source added, “They haven’t broken up but they have been living separate lives for months.”

The source later said that the two “haven’t been together for a while, but they hope to work this all out amicably.”
“As far as custody goes, this is really happening, so they’re thinking about it in real time,” the insider continued. “They did have a prenup. As a family, they are based in Florida. The kids were with him a few months ago, traveling with him as a family while he was on tour. Sophie has been working in the UK.”
The Blast has been able to confirm that the former couple had a prenup. The musician filed for divorce from the “Game of Thrones” actor after four years of marriage. They share a 3-year-old daughter named Willa and a 14-month-old daughter identified in court papers as D. However, her full legal first name has not yet been revealed.
According to the divorce filing, “the marriage between the parties is irretrievable.”

The couple met in 2016 on Instagram and exchanged a few messages before deciding to meet in person. Last November, Jonas explained in an interview with Mr Porter why he and Sophie Turner decided to keep their relationship a secret.

While they were expecting their second child, Jonas told People magazine: “It’s amazing being a dad and learning more about myself every day and what it’s like,” adding that he’s “very much looking forward to the future in everything.” Sophie Turner also said that being a mother has made her a better actress has given her a “different perspective” on her roles and has made her a “more emotional person.”
“Empathy increases; feelings about family are like overflowing,” he said on the UnWrapped The Wrap podcast. “It made me a better actor to be, you know, a mother.”
