In an interview, Soundarya talked about how she met Vishagan and they decided to get married. Soundarya mentioned that one of Rajinikanth’s friends had suggested considering Vishagan as a good match for him; however, he was not yet ready to move on from the then broken marriage. Soundarya added, when they first met, they felt a strong connection, which led them to decide to get married. In the interview, she further revealed that on their wedding day, Vishagan had taken the permission of Ved, whose biological father is Ashwin, to marry her. He explains that they recorded this moment on video, with the intention of showing it to Ved when he turns 18. On 11 September 2022, Soundarya and Vishagan Vanangamudi were blessed with a baby boy, and they named him Veer Rajinikanth Vanangamudi.
Career
Soundarya started working as a graphic designer in the Tamil film industry. In 1999, he marked his debut by designing the title film, “Padayappa.”

He designed and sketched the title series of various Tamil films such as “Baba” (2001), “Chandramukhi” (2005), and “Sivaji” (2007). He owns a production house called Ocher Picture Productions. In 2007, Ocher Picture Productions and Warner Bros Entertainment Inc partnered and started producing and distributing Tamil films. In 2010, he produced the Tamil film, “Goa.” under the production house.

He is all set to make his directorial debut with the 3D animated film, “Sultan: The Warrior,” featuring Rajinikanth. However, the idea for this film was dropped. Later in 2014, he made his directorial debut with the Tamil film, “Kochadaiiyaan,” in which Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone played the lead roles. Soundarya did a cameo in the song “Engae Pogudho Vaanam” of this film. She was the first Indian woman to direct her father in a feature film.
