After 13 years of marriage, Brazilian fashion model Gisele Bündchen and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady have officially filed for divorce.
Divorce attorneys for both Bündchen and Brady have been working with mediators so the two can reach an agreement regarding a property settlement and custody of their children. It appeared the two had officially agreed when divorce papers were filed last week in Florida, but the terms of the settlement will remain confidential and sealed.
Shortly after the two officially announced their divorce, the Brazilian supermodel released a statement, saying, “With great gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have finalized our divorce amicably. My priority has always been and will continue to be my children -our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue to co-parent them to give them the love, care and attention they so desperately need.”
Now, a source close to Bündchen has come forward, saying she seems fine after the divorce.

The source admitted that Bündchen is doing well after her divorce from her husband of 13 years, Tom Brady, mainly because the fashion model is used to being alone. “Gisele is dealing with issues that have plagued her for a long time,” a source close to PEOPLE told PEOPLE.
Although the split from Brady was “hard at first,” the source said that “enough time has passed for him to settle in.” He “has lived his own life for years while Tom played football so he’s not afraid to do things on his own.”
Since the split, the mother of two has been seen spending a lot of time with her children, which has helped ease the situation. “Gisele is great with her kids and radiates joy when one or both of them are around,” the source said. “Having them with him has helped him move forward.”

After news of the divorce broke, the 45-year-old NFL quarterback took to Instagram to issue his own statement.
“Recently, my wife and I finalized a divorce from each other after 13 years of marriage. We reached this decision well and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always make sure they receive the love and attention they deserve,” Brady wrote in an Instagram Story.
“We came to the decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, as is the experience of many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However, we only wish the best for each other as we move forward with whatever new chapter in our lives is yet to be written,” he continued.
Brady concluded with, “And we appreciate your privacy and respect as we navigate what’s going to happen in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you.”
