Former presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott received a ringing endorsement from a certain South Carolina voter over the weekend.
Scott, a lifelong bachelor, popped the question Saturday night to his girlfriend Mindy Noce, who he publicly revealed amid media curiosity about his dating life during his brief run for president last year.
Scott, who represents the Palmetto State, announced his engagement to Noce Sunday in a short and sweet social media post showing the moment he got down on one knee on the beach of Kiawah Island in South Carolina to ask the interior designer to marry him.
“She said YES,” Scott tweeted. “Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.”
He also quoted Proverbs 18:22 in the Bible, “Whoever gets a wife gets what is good and gets approval from God.”
Scott, 58, put an engagement ring on Noce’s finger the day after he officially endorsed Donald Trump for president.

The only black Republican in the US Senate had his own presidential ambitions, but dropped out of the race last November after he failed to gain much traction with voters.
Scott debuted Noce as his girlfriend on stage at the third GOP presidential debate in Miami as curiosity — and concern among donors — about his love life grew.
Noce is a Charleston-based design and remodeling consultant and mother of three. The two met about a year ago after being introduced at church and connecting through Bible study, Scott told the Washington Post.

“My joke as soon as I saw the picture, I understood. But the truth is about two weeks, I knew there was something very different about him and his beliefs,” he told the newspaper.
“In our first conversation that lasted about an hour and a half or two, we finally decided to do a Bible study together.”
The MP reportedly received permission to propose from Noce’s parents before Christmas.

As he tried to think of his proposal plans, his idea to pop the question after a game of pickleball — the sport that bonds the two couples — was quickly shot down by one of his friends, according to the outlet.
Noce, who was previously married, was wearing her new engagement ring when she attended church Sunday morning, Scott said.
“I’m very patient and praying, and I’m very excited and a little nervous, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found a soul mate and someone who shares the same interests, passions and goals as me. do,” he told the Washington Post.
