A man was arrested after he allegedly jumped out of an emergency door on a Southwest Airlines flight Sunday in New Orleans, climbed onto the plane’s wing and tried to escape as the plane was preparing to take off.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana said the man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he escaped an emergency exit and ran onto the runway at New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong International Airport.
At the time of the incident, the plane was still parked at the terminal and had not yet turned back from the gate to take off, WWLTV reported.
Pictures show the emergency door falling and the man being escorted by police in handcuffs.

He also reportedly tried to steal a service truck on the track before being stopped by authorities, witnesses told the outlet.
