Speedy Texas car thief steals pickup truck with towing trailer carrying Polaris Buggy in 19 seconds

A daring thief in Texas made off with around $200,000 in property from a paid public parking lot in less than 20 seconds.

After a day at the beach with his family, Adam Lewis said he couldn’t park his Ford F-250 Limited with an 18-foot flatbed trailer carrying his 2021 Polaris NorthStar Edition in his apartment building’s parking garage because of its size. , reports NBCDFW.

Lewis decided to reserve two spots in a paid public parking lot in downtown Dallas on Sept. 4 near where he planned to take the car for maintenance the next day.

To the family man’s surprise, the two rooms were empty the next morning.

“No trucks and no cars,” Lewis told the outlet.

“I was like, OK, I called my guy [who manages the parking lot] and like, ‘Was this pulled by accident?’”

After contacting the lot manager, he was told the security guard on the night shift said a tow truck had come “into the lot.”

Surveying the security of the lot, the manager watched as the tow truck caught Lewis’ property in seconds.

“[The thief] backed up to my truck with my trailer and the Polaris, and out he went,” shared Lewis.

The tow truck – possibly a blue Dodge single-cab pickup – made the heist in 19 seconds, according to the outlet.

Lewis was given additional security footage from a nearby Bank of America that had a better view of the tow truck’s license plate so he could “give that information to the police.”

Filing an insurance claim and reporting the theft to the Dallas Police Department, it was discovered that the truck’s Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR) number “was false.”

Law enforcement finally found the “shell” of Lewis’ truck last Friday.

His Ford was completely stripped and had “no bed, no seat, no steering wheel, no engine,” and no sign of his car.

The heartless crook even stole his 3-year-old daughter’s car seat, toys and puzzles.

Lewis said after watching the video of the robbery, he was amazed at how fast the car thief was.

“To pick up an F250, mounted on an 18-foot trailer that has a four-door car, thousands of pounds on it, that’s amazing,” he told the outlet.

The father is asking anyone with information about who carried out the robbery to report it to law enforcement – but doesn’t seem to hold any hard feelings against the car thief.

“I’ll probably find a position for you in my industry for you to use these passionate skills you’ve acquired. Let’s turn this around, let’s make our own money so you don’t have to steal.”

Although the stolen property was valued at around $200,000, Lewis understood that it was not the police’s priority to find the brazen car thief.

“You feel like you’ve been pushed in the mud, but at the end of the day, you have to get over it. It’s just stuff,” Lewis said.
