The latest Disney+ series will take place during the era of the High Republic, which ends approximately fifty years before the events of the first film in the prequel trilogy, “The Phantom Menace.”
In “Star Wars” terms, acolytes are novice Sith who have just begun their training under a Sith Lord, much like a Padawan is to a Jedi. The story will take place before Sith Lord Darth Bane developed the infamous Rule of Two, which states that only two Sith can exist at a time, meaning there may be some new Sith characters to be introduced into the franchise.
