Sreerama Chandra is an Indian singer and actor. He is famous for being the winner of the TV singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 5’ (2010).

Sreerama Chandra Mynampati was born on Sunday, 19 January 1986 (age 35 years; as of 2021) in Addanki, Andhra Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Capricorn.
He did his schooling at St. Andrews School, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, Telangana.
Later, he pursued BTech from the Royal Institute of Technology and Science (RITS), Damaragidda, Telangana. He did a five-year course in Carnatic Vocal at Sri Bhaktha Ramadasu Govt. College of Music and Dance, Hyderabad, Telangana, under the renowned Indian singer Bhaskara Haripriya.
While he was in school and college, he used to participate in various singing competitions and regional TV shows.

Career
As a Singer
He was spotted by one of the film directors through one of his regional singing TV shows. He was then called by the Indian director Chandu who offered Sreerama a song in his film. In 2007, he lent his voice to the song “Chirugaalulato” for the Telugu film ‘Notebook.’ In 2010, Sreerama released his music album ‘Rehnuma’ followed by another music album ‘Crazy Love.’ He has worked as a singer in films of multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Tamil. In 2005, he made his debut as a singer in the Telugu dubbed version of the Hindi film ‘Murder’ in which he sang two songs ‘Life Style’ and ‘Apple.’ He has sung many songs in Telugu films such as “Pragathi S Good Bye” from the film ‘Boni’ (2009), “Nachchavura” from the film ‘Badrinath’ (2011), “Mari Antaga” from ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ (2012), and “Anaganaganaga” from ‘Oh! Baby’ (2019).
In 2011, he made his debut in Bollywood with the songs “Madhubala” and “Ishq Risk” (Remix) from the film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.’ He has sung many Hindi songs including “Subhaanallah” from ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ (2013), “Haal-E-Dil (Male)” from ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (2016), “Allah Duhai Hai” from ‘Race 3’ (2018), and “Fikar Not” from ‘Chhichhore’ (2019). His debut songs in the Kannada films are “Sorry Ri Sorry” and “Ye Huduga” from ‘Rose’ (2014). In 2016, he lent his voice for the song “DhundiCha Kshan Ha Olathe” in the Marathi version of the Hindi film ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.’ In 2017, he released a few cover songs on YouTube including ‘Closer x Channa Mereya,’ ‘Let Me Love You x Enna Sona,’ and ‘Peeloon x IshqSufiyana.’
He lent his voice for the Hindi TV serial’s title track ‘Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha’ (2021) aired on Star Plus. He has performed live at various stage shows at the national and international levels.
As an Actor
In 2013, he got an offer to act in the Telugu film ‘Sri Jagadguru Adi Sankara’ in which he played the role of Amaraka Maharaju.
Some of the Telugu films in which he has worked as an actor include ‘Prema Geema Jaantha Nai’ (2013) and ‘MMOF’ (2021).
During an interview, he was asked how he started acting as a career, he said,
Acting happened to me. I did not go asking for it. After Indian Idol, I was approached with acting offers. I heard around nine scripts. But I was certain that if I do act, I wanted a good production house, a good director, and clarity about what I was required to do. I heard several scripts but was too busy singing songs to take up anything. I didn’t want to put my music career on hold for acting, because I had just begun getting good singing offers. So, I took some time, thought over.”
As a Contestant
He has participated in many singing competitions and won a few of them. He came into the limelight in 2010 when he participated in the TV singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 5’ and finished as the winner of the show.
On his victory, he won a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs, a Tata Winger car, a song with Yash Raj Films, and a contract of one year with the music label Sony BMG.
