Srinda Mol or Srinda Arhaan, popularly known as Srinda (formerly Srinda Ashab) was born on Friday, 23 May 1986 (age 36 years; as of 2022) in Kochi, Kerala, India. She went to St. Mary’s Anglo Indian Girls High School, Fort Kochi, Kerala, till her tenth grade. Srinda pursued her undergraduate degree at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi.

Srinda first got married at the age of nineteen. She was married to Ashab, who was her boyfriend from college. They got married just after Srinda had completed her college; however, the marriage did not last long, and after the birth of their only son, Ashab Arhaan, they were separated, and four years later, they were divorced. In an interview, she opened up about her first marriage and added that she believed the decision was impulsive and immature. She said that getting divorced was the biggest struggle she faced in her life.

In 2018, she married Siju S. Bava in a private ceremony attended by relatives and close friends. Siju directed the Malayalam movie, Nale, with Fahadh Fassil as the lead actor.

Career

Film

Srinda started her career in the Malayalam film industry as an assistant director at the age of 23 years. She has worked on the sets of China Town (2010), Hero (2012) and Casanovva (2012). Srinda was cast as Jincy in Aashiq Abu’s 22 Female Kottayam (2012), and she established herself as one of the best character actors in the Malayalam film industry through various strong characters. In an interview, she revealed that the role in the Nivin Pauly starrer 1983, released in 2014, gave her a big break in her career and the characters from the movies 1983 (2014), Tamaar Padaar (2014), and Trance (2020) remained close to her heart. In 2014, she made her debut in the Tamil film industry with Vennila Veedu; Srinda played the role of Ilavarasi. In 2022, she voice dubbed for Dhanya Ananya’s character Naseema in the Malayalam film Saudi Vellakka, and she received praise during the movie’s theatre run. However, following the OTT release, there was some criticism over her dubbing.

Malayalam

She made her debut in the Malayalam film industry with Saji Surendran’s directorial Four Friends (2010), and she played the role of Ayisha, Amir’s (Jayasurya) sister. In 2013, Srinda was cast in director Rajeev Ravi’s debut film Annayum Rasoolum. Her breakthrough came in 2014 when she was cast as the lead heroine opposite Nivin Pauly. She was cast as Susheela in the 1983 movie, and the character was well-received by the public and critics.

Srinda essayed on the role of Valsamma in Tamaar Padaar (2014). Srinda did a cameo in the slapstick comedy film Aadu (2015). She was cast in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Pinneyum’ released in 2016. In 2017, she was cast in the Mohanlal starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, and the character was well-received among the audience. Srinda played the role of ‘Mary Tony’ in Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela (2017), directed by Althaf Salim. In 2018, she reprised her role as Mary in Aadu 2.

In 2020, she was cast as ‘Susan Roy’ in the satirical Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte. Srinda was cast as one of the lead actors in the political action thriller Kuruthi, released in 2021. Srinda was one of the lead actors in the Malayalam anthology Freedom Fight (2022); the film revolved around the lives of marginalised people and various relevant social causes. Srinda played the role of Ashwathy in the segment titled Asanghadithar; the plot was based on a true story. In 2022, she was cast in the Mammootty starrer Bheeshma Parvam. Srinda essayed on the role of Suhara in the satire comedy Mei Hoom Moosa released in 2022.

Music Album

Srinda appeared in Mayamadhavam (2009), a Malayalam-Hindu devotional album song sung by the actress Bhama. Later, she appeared in another Malayalam album song called Celebrate Happiness (2017), and she was joined by some of the actors and actresses in the Malayalam film industry.
