Create a folder in Yahoo Mail
- First of all, you need to log into your Yahoo mail account and once you are in, click on the ‘Mail’ icon on the top right hand corner.
- On the next page, click on the ‘New Folder’ option at the bottom of the left-hand column.
- Next, in the text field provided, enter the name of your folder, for example, I am creating a folder here called Jobs, where I can save all emails related to my jobs, after entering the name, click the ‘Arrow’ in blue or press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard.
- That was it and your new Yahoo folder has been created.
Delete a folder in Yahoo Mail
Take a look at the steps to remove a Yahoo Mail folder from your account:
- Click the ‘Mail’ icon in the upper right corner after logging into your Yahoo account.
- In the left side column, scroll down and you will see all the folders you have created; click the one you want to delete. Here I have clicked on the one I want to delete i.e. Jobs.
- You will see all the emails that the folder has; you must delete them all before you can delete the folder. Without deleting the emails, you can’t delete a Yahoo folder. So select all the emails in the folder and click ‘Delete’.
- Now, click on the folder arrow button and you will see some options, click on the one that says ‘Delete Folder’.
- With this, your Yahoo folder has been successfully removed.
Delete a folder in the basic version of Yahoo Mail
If you’re still using the basic version, here’s how to delete a folder in that, make sure you’ve changed all the important messages in the folder you’re going to delete.
- Go to the ‘My Folders’ section in the left column and select the one you want to delete.
- Click ‘Edit’ next to ‘My Folders’.
- In the ‘My Folders’ section, click ‘Delete’ next to the folder name.
- Press ‘Ok’ to confirm
