Sukesh Chandrasekhar, also known as Bala Ji, was born in 1989 (age 34; in 2023) in Bhawani Nagar, Bangalore. He attended Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore for primary education and Madurai University for secondary education. He has been fascinated by luxury cars and sports cars since childhood. He also worked as an intern to organize several car events in his city during his university days.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar, current Rs. 200 crore extortion case investigation, admitted he had a romantic relationship with popular Indian actress Jacqueline Fernandez. Sukesh’s lawyer, Anant Malik, issued an official statement to the same. Later, a romantic picture of Sukesh and Jacqueline, where Sukesh was seen kissing Jacqueline at her checkup in a mirror selfie, went viral on social media. Jacqueline’s manager, on her part, denied she had any relationship with Sukesh and his wife.

Fraudulent Activities
Sukesh Chandrasekhar, since childhood, was fascinated by luxury expensive cars and lavish lifestyle. In order to fulfill his dream of living the luxurious life, he started scamming people to make a large amount of money in a short time. Sukesh duped the public by posing as a friend of the son of a prominent senior politician. He was caught for the first time when he duped a family friend for Rs. 1.5 crore at the age of seventeen only. Even after getting bail for his first crime, Sukesh Chandrasekhar continued to cheat people with his tricks to earn millions. He promised people to provide them with jobs or government properties. As a minor, Sukesh cannot legally drive any vehicle, to fulfill his desire to do so, he forged the signature of the Bangalore police commissioner and issued a certificate, allowing him to drive anywhere in Karnataka.

In 2017, Sukesh Chandrasekhar became the talk of the town after he was arrested by Delhi Police officials in connection with the two-leaf symbol bribery case from a hotel room on 16 April 2017. He allegedly played the middleman of the All India Ann Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) deputy general secretary, TTV Dhinakaran. Reportedly, TTV Dhinakaran hired Sukesh to approach the Election Commission officials to announce the verdict in favor of the Sasikala faction of the AIADMK for the two-leaf symbol. According to sources, Sukesh charged an amount of Rs. 50 crore for influencing Election Commission officials. The FIR filed by the crime branch police against Sukesh Chandrasekhar presented that Sukesh denied having any money but a bag filled with bundles of Rs 2,000 notes amounting to Rs 1.3 crore was found in his room. The money was seized along with Sukesh’s Mercedes-Benz, which was parked in the hotel parking lot. Sukesh Chandrasekhar sought bail as he denied having anything to do with TTV Dhinakaran but there were a total of 24 FIRs lodged against him. His bail was denied once by the high court and three times by the trial court. In 2021, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who was on Interim bail, was again arrested by Delhi Police Economic Offenses Wing officials in connection with the case of cheating the wife of Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, Aditi Singh, whom he cheated of Rs. 200 crores. His wife, Leena Maria Paul, was also arrested in the same case for helping her husband in the fraud. A total of 13 accused, including Kamlesh Kothari, Joel Jose Matthews, Arun Muthu, and B Mohan Raj, have been arrested in the Rs 200-Crore extortion case.
According to the police, Chandrasekhar impersonated a senior Law Ministry official and offered to help her get bail for her husband in return for a large sum of money. During the investigation, it was found that Sukesh Chandrasekhar was allegedly running an extortion racket from behind the bars of Rohini jail. He uses an iPhone 12 Pro Max and a Samsung phone with an Israeli phone number to run his business. He provides at least Rs. 1 crore a month to hawala traders and police officers in exchange for giving him the goods he wanted. A senior police officer said,
He lived in prison like a king. It seems that all Rohini jail officials are involved because of the facilities given to her. An entire barrack empty of all other prisoners was given to him. He has covered the CCTV cameras as well. He was free to use his cell phone to run an extortion racket for a year.”
He added,
He also has a cheat app to impersonate government officials and politicians to lure his targets. He used to brainwash his people through this. As in the case, he said to a woman that her husband can get bail if they are with the government.”
Speaking about the involvement of Prison officers in the case, he said,
Assistant Superintendent of Jail and Deputy Superintendent of Jail Rohini were found to be involved in the racket and they have confessed to have helped the accused. The two prison officers were also arrested.”
SukeshChandrasekhar, during the investigation of the Rs 200-Crore extortion case, claimed to have had relations with Bollywood actresses Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez. Sukesh claims to have gifted Nora a luxury car worth Rs. 1 crore. However, Nora’s spokesperson clarified the matter by issuing a press release mentioning Nora Fatehi as Sukesh’s victim. The press release stated,
On behalf of Nora Fatehi, we would like to clarify the various speculations floating around in the media. Nora Fatehi was a victim in the case and as a witness, she cooperated and helped the officers in the investigation. He does not know or have any personal connection with the accused and has been summoned by the ED to help the investigation strictly. We would like to ask our friends in the media not to slander his name and make any statements before any official information is released.”

Talking about Jacqueline Fernandez, Sukesh Chandrasekhar revealed having a romantic relationship with her. During his interim bail in 2021, he met Jacqueline several times and arranged a private jet for her convenience. A picture of Sukesh kissing Jacqueline’s cheek also went viral during the controversy. Spokesperson Jacqueline Fernandez responded to Sukesh’s allegations by saying,
Jacqueline Fernandez is being called to testify as a witness by the ED. He has duly recorded his statement and will in future also fully cooperate with the agency in the investigation. Jacqueline also denied the defamatory statements made about the relationship with the couple involved.”
According to the chargesheet filed by the ED, Jacqueline was not interested in talking to Sukesh, so she called him from the home ministry headed by Amit Shah, and she posed as a high-ranking official of the ministry. Reportedly, Sukesh resorted to this tactic after Fernandez refused to speak to him when he tried to contact her through her make-up artist. The ED alleged that in the ‘fake calls’ he made to the actress, Sukesh impersonated a “very important person in the Government,” and he also claimed that he was a member of Jayalalithaa’s political party and was the owner of Sun TV… “According to the ED, the actress remained in touch with Sukesh until his arrest where he “arranged various flights, planes and his family members to stay in hotels in India,” according to ED. cash payments to the scriptwriter on (his) behalf… All these expenses/payments were made by Sukesh Chandrashekhar from criminal proceeds obtained through criminal activities related to scheduled offences.” When Jacqueline Fernandez was interrogated by the ED, she admitted that she “received gifts of three Gucci and Chanel bags, two Gucci outfits for gym wear, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings and multi-colored stone bracelets, and two bracelets Hermes. He also received a Mini Cooper, which he returned.” In February 2023, he reportedly received a legal notice of Rs. 100 crore from fraudster Sukesh who claimed that he damaged his reputation after giving a statement against him publicly. The actress spoke against him in court and with the media in January 2023 where she revealed that Sukesh proposed to her in 2018 when he met her in Tihar Jail and gave her Rs. 2 lahks as ‘Shagun;’ however, according to Chahatt, Sukesh then started blackmailing him over his visit to Tihar. Chahatt said,
I don’t want anyone to know that I am in Tihar jail. I was also worried that it would affect my marriage, so I agreed to give them the money. Among other things, it has affected my marriage, and my husband and I separated. Maybe I should approach the police and file a complaint. But things keep happening one after another and I just want to get out of it”
