Suman Shasanik Rao was born on 23 November 1998 (Age: 20 years old, as on 2018) in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Since childhood, he lived in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He got his primary education from Mahatma Education Society, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. For his higher education, he enrolled in MES Pillai Institute, New Panvel, Maharashtra and studied commerce. To become a chartered accountant, he was also admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi, India.

In 2018, Rao participated in the Miss Navi Mumbai Pageant where she was the first runner-up. After that, she auditioned for Femina Miss Rajasthan in 2019 and won the pageant. Rao represented the state of Rajasthan in Femina Miss India 2019. She won the Femina Miss India 2019 pageant.
During her competition, she also won the Miss Rampwalk award.
