Sumit Goswami was born on Monday, 18 November 1996 (age 26 years; in 2022) in Daulati Village, Sonepat, Haryana. He pursued higher education at the Polytechnic College of Engineering in Haryana. He has been interested in singing since childhood and started writing songs in the ninth grade. His father was not in favor of his singing career, and he wanted him to become an engineer. His father used to look down on him. Whenever he talks about becoming a singer, his father always laughs at him and calls him Sheikh Chilli (Day Dreamer or Impractical Person). This hurts Sumit and he tells his father that he will earn a lot of money and improve his career as a singer. She obeyed whatever her father said and went to college, but her desire to be a singer never stopped.

Career
After graduation, he started doing night shifts in a private company. He used to work in the office at night and compose songs during the day. His first song titled ‘Karobaar’ was released in January 2018.
He did not tell his parents about this song. The song did not gain much fame, but his family started supporting him after this. He released the audio of his second song ‘Gangwar with Bawli Tared’ which got a lot of appreciation from people. Later, he uploaded the video of the song on YouTube starring Vicky Kajla. After the song was released, Sumit became a popular singer in Haryana.

Controversy
In October 2020, several people gathered in front of Sumit’s house and started firing. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras and the video went viral on social media. The people who opened fire fled the scene. According to the police, Sumit was threatened because his name was included in the suicide case of a man named Aman Bainsla who committed suicide in 2020. He lives with his parents and sister in Sector-11 Rohini, Shahbad. Before he died, he posted a video on social media where he mentioned Sumit and the name of a girl who cheated him in some business projects.
