Sunny Hostin, an American lawyer and television broadcaster, has been labeled a racist for claiming that white women who support Donald Trump for president want to “protect the patriarchy.” While speaking about a recent Washington Post article on the Tuesday, May 30, episode of The View, the 54-year-old celebrity made some controversial statements.
According to the news report, women voters in Pennsylvania claim they will still vote for Trump in the next election despite his defamation and allegations of violence.
Hostin states:
“I believe that women, especially white women, want to perpetuate this patriarchy because it benefits them.” They want to make sure their partner is successful. They want to make sure their son succeeds. They want to make sure their children succeed. They want to make sure that they succeed.”
He continued, adding the disputed statement:
“In some of these studies, the majority of women are married. Slaves were also owned by white women…White women, in particular, wanted to maintain patriarchy because it benefited them…they followed what their husbands did, how their husbands voted.”
Sunny Hostin’s statement sparked outrage online.
The internet and many other celebrities criticized Sunny Hostin after her statement about white women wanting to “protect the patriarchy” went viral. According to Mediaite, Fox Business chief Kennedy responded to Hostin’s remarks on Fox News Tonight by criticizing him for making racist and inflammatory remarks on The View.
“I feel bad for the ladies of The View because they clearly have brain damage stuck in a farting vacuum next to Whoopi Goldberg.” They have inhaled too many toxins, and their brain cells have been damaged.”
Sunny’s source for knowledge should be questioned by Kennedy, who wonders, “Who are these magical White women who are just shields for their racist husbands?”
When host Johnny Jones questioned whether Hostin was insulting White women or the country, he responded:
“I believe in both. I believe they’re mixed up, and I’m surprised that the people on The View aren’t disciplined or sanctioned by their network for spouting some of the racist beliefs they do on a regular basis. They are too used to being harsh and divisive. They do not develop the country. It’s not a smart discussion. It’s not funny. When you watch that program, you don’t get any value.”
Kennedy attacked Sunny Hostin, calling her a “trash person with trashy opinions,” for “shaming” women who are trying to care for and support their families.
“I heard there’s a special place in Hell for women who don’t support other women.”
Not only Kennedy, but many other Twitter users chastised Sunny Hostin for being “racist” and making baseless claims. As of this writing, Sunny Hostin has yet to respond to the internet backlash he received for his remarks against white women.
