Sunny Malton is a Canadian rapper and music composer of Indian origin, who works in the Punjabi entertainment industry. He is known for the songs Issa Jatt (2017), Never Fold (2022), and Levels (2022) sung in collaboration with Sidhu Moose Wala.

Career
He worked at the retail company Canadian Tire before pursuing a career in music. In 2008, he started his career with the rap song Get Em. In the following years, he released several rap songs such as BMF Freestyle (2010), Sky Scraper (2014), and Ted Dibiase (2016). Malton is closely associated with Punjabi music director and composer Byg Byrd. Malton released a freestyle diss track called ‘Jus Remain Humble Doe’ in 2016 in collaboration with Byg Byrd. The song, recorded to the beat of Fire Squad by J Cole, takes aim at Punjabi rapper Fateh, comedian Jus Reign, YouTuber Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman), and Humble the Poet (aka Kanwer Singh).
In August 2017, Sunny Malton came into the limelight for rapping on Sidhu Moose Wala and Byg Byrd’s hit song “So High”, which later became the highlight of Moosewala’s music career. The catchphrase of the iconic catchphrase “Imma Imma Brown Boy” in the song catapulted Malton to stardom. Malton was also featured in the So High music video, which was shot in Toronto. After that, he was known as Moose Wala’s right-hand man.

Malton and Moose Wala’s Just Listen (2017) peaked at number 12 on the Top 40 Asian Music Chart (2018). Finally, Sidhu Moose Wala, Byg Byrd, Sunny Malton and Big Boi Deep co-founded the music label Brown Boys Records. In 2019, they released the music album Brown Boys Forever under Brown Boys Records.
After a successful collaboration of three years, in 2020, Byg Byrd and Sunny Malton fell out with Moosewala over leaked tracks and unpaid invoices. In 2021, Sunny Malton and Rajvir Gakhal launched their record label TPM Recordz. Malton and Moosewala settled their differences and got back together in 2021.

Malton and Moosewala marked their comeback with Youngest In Charge in 2022. Malton’s chartbuster Levels (2022) with Moose Wala peaked at number 32 on the Canadian Hot 100. In 2022, he appeared in Moosewala’s follow-up drama No Name in hit song, Never Fold. In the same year, he released the drama sequel It’s Always Sunny In California.
On 1 November 2022, after the death of Moose Wala, Malton released the song Letter to Sidhu to pay tribute to him.
Controversy
Brown Men’s Feud
In 2020, after the release of Brown Boys Forever, an internet feud started between Sidhu Moose Wala and the Brown Boys, namely Byg Byrd, Sunny Malton and Big Boi Deep. The issue revolved around Moosewala’s song ‘My block,’ which Byrd was editing. After finalizing the song, Byg Byrd sent a message to Moosewala asking for payment. However, when Byrd didn’t hear from Moosewala for several days, he and Malton uploaded a video on Instagram claiming that Moosewala hadn’t paid them and was “leaking” their song. In response to the video from Brown Boys, Moosewala went live on Instagram and claimed that he withheld payment because the song was not released. He said, Byrd and Malton are only entitled to receive payment after the song is released. Moosewala also accused Brown Boys of leaking their own songs and blamed him.
Feud with Sikander Kahlon
After Moosewala’s feud with the Brown Boys, Punjabi rapper Sikander Kahlon sided with Moosewala. In her Instagram story, Kahlon shared that the Brown Boys asked her to follow them and when Kahlon did, they just unfollowed her which was pretty disrespectful to Kahlon. Additionally, Kahlon tweeted in support of Sidhu Moosewala in his conflict with the Brown Boys, which angered Malton. After that, Malton leaked screenshots of his conversation with Kahlon with a statement depicting Kahlon asking for a collaboration with the Brown Boys. After that Sikander Kahlon tweeted,

After that, Maltona and Kahlon had a long feud in a series of tweets where both brutally abused each other. Eventually, Kahlon released a diss track called the Sunny Milton EP towards Malton.
