He started his career as an assistant director. He assisted film director Rajiv Anchal in Malayalam films such as Butterflies (1993), Kashmeeram (1994), and Guru (1997).

He has worked as an assistant director with famous directors like K. Balachander and Priyadarshan. He started his career as a director in the Malayalam film ‘Bharatheeyam’ in 1997.
Some of the Malayalam films he has directed are Achaneyanenikkishtam (2001), Vasanthamalika (2002), Pathinonnil Vyazham (2010), and Nakhangal (2013).

He has worked as an associate director in more than 25 films with popular Indian director Priyadarshan. Suresh has worked with her in Bollywood films such as Malamaal Weekly (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), Kanchivaram (2008), and De Dana Dan (2009).
On 5 January 2020, she entered the Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 house along with other contestants like Sujo Mathew, Rajini Chandy, Veena Nair, and Reshma Rajan. He was the last contestant to enter the Bigg Boss House.
