Birth & Early Life
Sushmit was born on 19 September 1995 in Kolkata, West Bengal. He completed his schooling from Birla High School based in Kolkata. He continued his studies for an engineering degree from the Kalinga Institute of Engineering and Technology. After engineering, he worked in Mumbai for some time but he always wanted to be an actor, so he took some acting courses to master his talent.

Career
Sushmit first appeared in the Bengali television show Boron as Rudrik Banerjee. Boron tells the love story of a brave girl Tithi and Rudrik Banerjee, the son of a famous industrialist Nandan Banerjee who lives a luxurious lifestyle. The show also features Indrani Paul and Ananya Biswas.
He also appeared in Madhabilata, a Bengali serial produced by Snehashish Chakraborty which aired on Star Jalsha. He was pitched against Sharbhani Bhunia.
