Susie Evans Says Farewell To Clayton Echard

Susie Evans appeared on Clayton Echard’s season, where during Fantasy Suite week, Echard admitted to sleeping with Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, leading Evans to self-destruct. However, Echard decided to end it with Windey and Recchia because he felt Evans was the best for him.
Echard went after Evans and the two announced they were dating during “The Bachelor” finale. However, six months after the finale aired, they both decided to part ways. “You really don’t know if you’re compatible until you get out there. I remember looking back and saying, ‘You were so much more compatible with Rachel,’” Evans said after the two announced their split. “I remember thinking… ‘Why did you choose me? You have someone you might really get along with.’ And the other girls too, it didn’t work out so far.”
The former “Bachelor” contestant explained how difficult it is to find love in such an environment.
“You don’t get enough quality time with that person,” he explains. “The privacy behind Fantasy Suites… that’s the only time you can really be real and raw and not have to worry about the world judging you, but the show doesn’t give you enough time to have those kinds of conversations. It feels very surface-y, I think, to most.
Evans added that the producer’s involvement throughout the course of “The Bachelor” played a role in the relationship as well.
“There were things that were said or done throughout the process, where I was like, ‘That was very thoughtful. That was a thoughtful thing that happened.’ And after the process is over, you find out that it was someone else’s idea,” he said. “… You’re like, ‘How does he know me so well?’ It’s like, no, this is the person in his ear. It takes away the thing where when we get out there, I’m like, ‘Wait, you don’t know anything about my character. You don’t know anything about who I am.'”
