Suspect arrested after bomb threat shuts down BWI Airport: report

At least one person was arrested Wednesday after making a bomb threat at Baltimore/Washington International Airport that temporarily halted operations.

The suspects parked their car on the side of the road outside the airport and threatened officers, claiming to have a bomb in their vehicle, airport insiders told CNN.

The video posted on X, formerly Twitter, shows an individual is being held.

BWI closed the terminal road to all traffic as the bomb squad combed the cars.

After about an hour, the vehicle was cleared and the road was reopened to traffic.

The short-term emergency has affected airport operations.

All vehicular traffic to the airport was halted, causing massive backups, and passengers inside the terminal were advised to shelter in place.

Air traffic controllers briefly grounded the flight due to an “emergency situation,” CNN reported.

The incident also led to the closure of two security checkpoints in the main terminal.

Officers cleared the car after about an hour of investigating.

Additionally, the Maryland Transit Administration has briefly suspended light rail service to the airport.

Airport officials did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
