Suzanne Somers’ husband, Alan Hamel, gave her an early birthday present before she died on Sunday morning.

Suzanne Somers’ Husband Stuns One Last Time Before His ‘Peaceful’ Departure

Shortly after Somers’ longtime publicist, R. Couri Hay, confirmed the actress’ passing on Sunday morning in a statement, she revealed new information about her final hours on earth.

According to the gossip columnist, the husband of the 46-year-old “Three Companies” alum wrote her a sweet poem and “gave it to her a day early. She read the poem, went to bed, and then died peacefully in her sleep.”

The poem excerpt, originally written in all caps, begins, “My love I use it every day, sometimes several times a day. I use it at the end of an email to my dear family. I also use it in emails to close friends. I use it when I leave the house.”

“There is love, then love you and I love you!! In it there are several different ways we use love. Sometimes I feel obligated to use love, replying to someone who signed love in their email, when I don’t feel comfortable using love but I use it anyway,” the poem continued as reported by PEOPLE.

In the outlet, Hamel listed all the things she loves, including her home, her cats, “the taste of freshly harvested Royal organic medjool jumbo dates,” and “watching the two giant blackbirds that live nearby approach my window with power. dive.” The Canadian entertainer added, “My daily life consists of things and people I love and things and people I’m indifferent to.”

“I could go on ad infinitum, but you get the idea. What brand of love do I feel for my wife Suzanne? Can I find it in any of the above? No!!!! There is no version of the word that can be used for Suzanne instead I use the word in relation to advice,” he wrote.

As the poem unfolds, Hamel reiterates that there are no words to describe his love for his wife claiming that “unconditional love,” taking a bullet for Somers and being together for more than five decades does not cover it. He concluded:

“I’m back to feeling. No words. No action. No promises. No declaration. Even the green-shaded scholars of Oxford University Press have spent 150 years and still failed to come up with that one word. So I will call it, ‘us’, in a unique, magical, wonderful way that cannot be described as ‘us.’”

Despite the sadness following the news of his death, fans were overjoyed that Hamel was able to do something nice for his now deceased wife. At the time of his death, Ray wrote in a statement:

“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of October 15th. She survived aggressive breast cancer for over 23 years. Suzanne is surrounded by her loving husband, Alan [Hamel], his son, Bruce, and his immediate family. His family had gathered to celebrate his 77th birthday on October 16. Instead, they will celebrate his incredible life, and want to thank his millions of fans and followers who loved him so much.”

‘Three’s Company’ Star Achieves Marriage Milestone With Husband Earlier This Year

A few months before her death, Somers shared a touching Instagram post celebrating a milestone in her love life. She posted a selfie with her husband, taken years ago, alongside a more recent photo of them.

In the accompanying caption, the “Kalah Mati” author wrote, “Still smiling 55 years later ☺️ #TBT ?,” hinting at their undying love on their most recent anniversary. You’ll recall that the lovebirds exchanged vows in 1977 after a decade of dating, making it her 46th wedding anniversary with Hamel.

The Blast reports that thanks to the love still evident in the recent photo, fans turned to the comments to celebrate the occasion with him. One person gushed:

“You two are the true meaning of “Love”!! Just looking at you makes me smile! God bless you both and may you have many more years! Here’s to finding “the one”! Finally at the age of 60, I have found mine!!”

“Happy Birthday you two are so cute! When you marry your soul mate, it makes the journey we call life even better! It’s RARE and precious like a gem!,” added the second person. The post has gotten nearly 9k likes since Somers created it in January.
