For Sweeney, the months since Cloud’s death have been filled with various career opportunities, including his latest film, “Anyone But You.” However, regardless of their charm, the show can’t overshadow the pain of losing a co-star-turned-friend.

The 26-year-old actress will be forced to deal with Cloud’s absence once she resumes filming for the third season of “Euphoria” in 2024. While Sweeney is excited to reprise her role as Cassie Howard on the HBO series, she says it won’t be the same without her co-star the late

According to the entertainer, he and his co-stars were devastated by the news of Cloud’s accidental drug overdose in July. They couldn’t believe they had lost their friend at the age of 25 and mourned his death together, finding comfort in each other. In Sweeney’s words:

“[My costars and I] always on the phone to each other crying because it was so shocked. I didn’t think it would really hit me or hit me until we were filming, and I wouldn’t see Angus on set.”

“It’s interesting when someone dies in our industry because they live on in many forms.”

Although filming in Cloud’s absence will be a challenging feat for the “The White Lotus” actor, working on “Euphoria” may help him heal. She claims the show serves as an emotional outlet through her character Cassie despite the dark storyline.

“Cassie is definitely the closest – especially in the first season – to me that I’ve ever played, and she means a lot to me,” Sweeney explained. “But it’s almost like therapy: where I can let go so much … that when I go home, I feel free.”
