The Thor’s Love & Thunder the director explained clearly, his love for… “Rugby”. The reveal appeared on Instagram with Taika sharing a video of the design being stripped down then a photo of the final product.
Although the sports fanatic claims that the R is for rugby, as he is a huge fan of the game, we’re inclined to believe that the R stands for his new (well, new to us) wife Rita Ora. The two have been very quiet about their relationship and only revealed last month that they are officially married.
Which is crazy because they’ve never really confirmed their relationship to the public they’re just sneaking around.
The ‘R’ In Rita Ora
The singer and his lover have been giddy about being a married couple and because of that he finally talked about it. The tattoo could be Taika’s way of talking about his wife openly, without fully committing.
The ‘R’ monogram was in a classic font and he placed it on his hand, between his thumb and forefinger. The comments went crazy including the Marvel director’s famous friends who seemed to be in on something we weren’t.
Natasha Lyonne, Kate Beckinsale, Vas Morgan and more left comments about love like red heart emojis, “awwwwww” from Kate, and a smiley face with heart eyes and she told us it’s all about rugby? Yes for sure.

Comments from his regular followers called BS about the true meaning of the sentimental tat. “Rugby ora,” claimed a follower. “Three Rs. Rita, Rhys, and Rugby,” said another. “I think you want to say Rita? ?” called another.
Followers are not mistaken we also think the ‘R’ is for Rita, why not? And Taika fans know that he loves to scare his followers. He took trolling a step further and shared another photo on his Instagram Story.
The new pic is Taika doubling the ‘R’ is for rugby and filling in the “Rugby” piece using a perfectly placed ‘R’.

The singer hasn’t acknowledged her husband’s new tattoo on social media yet and knowing how these two are rolling, it’s a mystery if she will but her fans are still in her comments on random old posts asking her if she saw it and what she thought.
They’re also still asking for her wedding photos or other proof besides her new music video which seems to be based on her marriage to Taika if all goes wrong!
Thankfully, it didn’t happen and for pictures, Rita has already shared that she doesn’t intend to share that part of her life for now. So, we have to take what we can get and apparently, it’s a trolling post from her new husband.
