The world of “Daisy Jones & The Six” is one step closer to coming to life, and an important critic has given it his full stamp of approval!
Author Taylor Jenkins Reid first brought the fictional world of 1970s rock band ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ to the fore in 2019 with the publication of her novel of the same name. Since the publication of the novel, “Daisy Jones & The Six” has attracted the attention of the literary world thanks to its huge amount of success from various online book communities, especially ‘BookTok’ and ‘Bookstagram!’
Bookworms will soon have the chance to see Daisy and her crew come to the small screen when Amazon Prime’s series adaptation of the novel arrives on the streaming service on Friday, March 3rd!
The Blast has covered various elements of the series, including Jenkins Reid’s Instagram documentation of the series’ milestone.
On Thursday morning, Jenkins Reid celebrated the release of the full soundtrack album, featuring songs performed by cast members!
Daisy Jones and her Six sons became famous at the end of the seventies, releasing an album called “Aurora”, which had a great impact on music history like Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” or “Frampton Comes Alive” by Peter Frampton.
“Aurora” reached an important pair of ears: Jenkins Reid’s daughter, Lilah!

No ‘Rumors’ Here: The Musical Aspect of ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Is a Labor of Love!
The TV adaptation of “Daisy Jones & The Six” has been generating excitement from those involved since its inception!
Executive producer Scott Neustader was smitten from the start. He told Vanity Fair in a profile earlier this year, “I flipped through it, and absolutely fell in love with it all. Being transported to the Laurel Canyon music scene of the 1970s was like, the greatest gift I could ever imagine.” (per The Blast)
Reese Witherspoon knew she wanted to adapt the novel with the help of her Hello Sunshine production company. She often expresses her love for the novel on her social media accounts, especially the Instagram account Hello Sunshine!
The series stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin as Daisy and Billy, a couple with a lot of professional and personal history, with the two aspects often clashing with each other. The duo had to go through a lot of rehearsals to accurately translate Daisy and Billy’s relationship from script to screen, especially with their musical collaboration.
Keough and Claflin spoke to NME about their experiences as seasoned musicians.
Keough laughs as she remembers her early days as Daisy. “After they hired me, I still remember [the producers] said: ‘Well, Riley’s got a long way to go, so whoever we hire [as her partner] need to be a great singer to balance that,” he told the publication.
Claflin echoed the mood in the studio. “We just laughed our way through it,” he said. “We had singing lessons together quite early on, and at that point, I had impostor syndrome. I thought, ‘I shouldn’t be here, this is scary. I’m so nervous,’ then Riley comes in and they immediately have us staring at each other to try and find that romantic connection,” she continued.
Keough added, “It didn’t take much for me to roll around laughing, but then we sang and I thought, ‘Oh, yay, we’re both bad!’
Jenkins Reid Weighs In On ‘Aurora’
The woman who brings Daisy and her ‘terrible’ singing partner to life feels everything but negative after hearing Daisy Jones and the Six come alive through their music!
“We finally have ‘Aurora,'” he said in a recent statement. “A stunning, nostalgic, timeless album that captures the drama and sadness, and longing for the band’s peak and nadir in one. Pictures of time, intoxicating and dangerous. Those delicious moments you know can’t last… Daisy Jones and the Six are real. And it’s better than my wildest dreams,” Jenkins Reid concluded.
There is one particular music critic whose opinion means a lot to the author: his daughter!
Jenkins Reid shot a cute Instagram video of Lila huddled up and listening to “Aurora” on her mom’s phone.
“’Aurora’ IS OUT and as my son can attest, it’s a hit. @blakemills and @tonyberg1, you have created a great album. (Lilah saying ‘It’s more fun to miss’ makes Daisy sound like a cowgirl, in case you need more feedback),” she captioned the post!
The official Instagram account for Witherspoon’s book club commented, “Dream big, little bird!”
“Daisy Jones & The Six” is sure to make dreams come true when the series premieres on Amazon Prime tomorrow!
