Controversy over Ticketmaster’s handling of sales for Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ made headlines for several weeks after tickets went on sale last November. The tour, which will soon conclude its American leg, is the “Daylight” singer’s first tour since 2018.
Swift spoke out against the company in mid-November, in a statement posted to her Instagram story.
He wrote, “Well. Of course I’m very protective of my fans. We’ve been doing this for decades together and over the years, I’ve brought so many elements of my career in-house. I’ve done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans’ experience by doing it with myself and my team who care about my fans as much as I do. It’s really hard for me to trust an outside entity with this relationship and loyalty, and it’s sad for me to see mistakes happen with no choice,” he said.

“There are many reasons why people have such a hard time getting tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this can be improved moving forward. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them, many times if they can handle this kind of request and we’re confident they can. It’s amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really annoys me that a lot of them feel like they went through some bear attacks to get them,” the “Glitch” singer continued.
“And to those who didn’t get tickets, all I can say is that I hope to give more opportunities for all of us to come together and sing these songs. Thank you for being there. You have no idea how much it means,” the statement said. (per The Blast)

Ticketmaster will soon apologize to Swifties. The statement echoed the unprecedented demand for tickets, and would say “a staggering number of bot attacks and fans without codes drove unprecedented traffic to our site, resulting in 3.5 billion total system requests – 4x our peak before,” it read in part.
According to our coverage of the apology, Ticketmaster will claim that “it was impossible for Swift to perform the number of shows necessary to meet demand even if there were no problems with ticket sales.”
Ticketmaster will continue, “Even when the high demand for sales is going perfectly from a technology perspective, many fans are left empty-handed. For example: based on the amount of traffic to our site, Taylor would have to perform over 900 stadium shows (almost 20x the number of shows he does) … it was a stadium show every night for the next 2.5 years,” it continued in part.
Earlier this month, CNBC reported the Eras Tour was set to earn a billion dollars in sales; The outlet will also report that this income has broken records.

Swift’s lawyers are vocally opposed to the lawsuit filed by La Dart.
The author’s decision to drop the lawsuit reportedly comes “months” after the “Fearless” singer’s attorney claimed the lawsuit “shouldn’t have been filed.” They also added it was “unfounded in law and fact.”
La Dart claims in her lawsuit that “Several creative elements” contained in the author’s self-published book were allegedly “copied” in a companion book Swift wrote to coincide with the album’s release.
Billboard also reports that the lawsuit also alleges that Swift has “borrowed some visual elements” from La Dart’s 2010 book such as the color scheme and design of a photo of the “author “pictured in a downward pose.” La Dart also reportedly took aim at the formatting of Swift’s diary entries as too similar
The lawsuit also highlights “remembered memories of years past in a combination of written and pictorial components” as well as “interspersed photos and writing” as showing questionable similarities.
