Singer Taylor Swift may have delighted many fans with her hugely successful Eras Tour, but environmentalists are still upset by how much carbon emissions she’s putting out amid her new romance with Travis Kelce.
In the past three months alone, the “Bad Blood” singer has taken more than a dozen flights to visit her new man in Kansas City and celebrated his birthday earlier this month in New York City.
Taylor was named the biggest celebrity CO2 polluter of the year in 2022, and it looks like he might just grab that title for the second year in a row as he spends more time with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Taylor Swift May Be Crowned Biggest CO2 Polluter In 2023

According to the Daily Mail, the “Anti-Hero” singer has produced 138 tons of CO2 emissions in three months. In other words, he had to plant more than 2,200 trees and let them grow for ten years to compensate for the damage caused by his frequent travels.
The singer owns two planes: a Dassault Falcon 7x and a Dassault Falcon 900. Combined, it has been reported that she has used over 12,622 gallons of jet fuel to make frequent trips to Kansas City to pursue her romance with Travis Kelce.

This statistic has been tracked by Taylor Swift’s Jets on Instagram, who has drawn attention to the environmental damage caused by her flights on social media.
The “Midnights” performers have used so much energy that it is equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 17 homes in one year, or the electricity use of 26.9 homes for one year, according to the Greenhouse Gas Equivalency Calculator.

This is not the first time Taylor Swift has come under fire for what many consider her “excessive” use of carbon emissions. After the 2022 pollution rating, Taylor’s spokesperson claimed the “Bejeweled” singer often allows other celebrities to use his Falcon 7X jet for international flights.
However, in the past few months, Taylor has used his private jet to take him on trips to Kansas City and New York City, in addition to his popular Eras Tour stops, which recently wrapped up in South America.
His entire trip reportedly used 12,622 gallons of jet fuel, which is calculated to be worth around $70,779. According to the data, the “You Belong With Me” singer’s longest trip was his trip from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Kansas City with a stopover in Tampa, Florida. The flight reportedly used 4,151 gallons of fuel, which is believed to be worth about $23,250.
Taylor Reportedly Tried To Reduce Its Carbon Footprint

A spokesperson for the “Red” singer told the Daily Mail Taylor has been working to reduce her jet’s carbon footprint by traveling less frequently than in past years.
“Prior to the tour starting in March 2023, Taylor purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel,” the spokeswoman said, although it was unclear whether this also included her frequent visits to Kansas City.

The outlet previously reported that the “Ours” singer has temporarily moved into Travis Kelce’s $6 million mansion in Kansas City while taking a break from The Eras Tour.
A separate source told the outlet that the couple is using their new time together as a “training run” to see if they might live together permanently in the future. However, it looks like Taylor will be traveling a lot more in 2024, when the international leg of the Eras Tour will be held again on February 7 in Japan.
After traveling through Asia, Europe and Australia, Taylor Swift will return to North America later in 2024 to complete her record-breaking tour.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Reportedly ‘Obsessed’ With Each Other

Sources have told the outlet that the two are “obsessed” with each other and spare no expense in spending time together.
“Although Taylor hasn’t officially moved in with Travis, her friends and family believe she hasn’t really moved in either,” a source close to the singer told the outlet.

In an interview with TIME Magazine for their Person of the Year issue, the “Blank Space” singer laid out the timeline of their relationship. “It all started when Travis really hit me on his podcast, which I thought was metal as h—,” he told the publication.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a lot of time that no one knew about, which I’m thankful for because we got to know each other,” he continued. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think they saw our first date at the game. We’ll never be psychotic enough to go on a first date.”
The “All Too Well” singer has made appearances at several Travis games in locations such as New Jersey, Denver, and, of course, Kansas City.
