Taylor Swift fans can leave the Christmas lights off until January, or instead celebrate the announcement of her highly anticipated tour!
Swift ushered in a new era early this morning when she announced her first tour in half a decade, her first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “Lover” singer has a ‘reputation’ for making big announcements during TV appearances on “Good Morning America.”
In recent years, he has visited the set of ‘GMA’ to announce the re-recording of his first six albums, and promote many releases!
After a cryptic announcement in which Swift simply said “good morning” to America earlier this week, some ‘Swifties’ are wondering what the Easter egg queen has been up to and how their lives will change once again.
Of course, Swifties who had guessed the current Billboard Chart queen was planning to announce a tour were right on the money!
“I want to tell you something that I’ve been really excited about for a long time, have been planning for a long time,” a red lipstick-clad Swift told the ‘GMA’ cameras, “and I can finally tell you that I’m going back on tour!”
Whispers of Potential Tourism Have Started to Circulate!
Last month, The Blast revealed what we knew about Swift’s hypothetical tour plans.
A source close to the singer told Page Six “Taylor has some very ambitious plans. She’s excited to get back on the road, after a long but fruitful hiatus.”
Swift had reportedly started working on the plan at the time. A second source also told the outlet “several shows have been booked,” but the revelations stopped there.
Almost a month before our article was originally published, concrete details about the upcoming tour were officially revealed!
What are the Official Deets About the Tour?!
As we’ve mentioned before, it’s been five years since Swift last kicked off a stadium tour!
The “Lover Fest” show he planned to support “Lover” 2019 was canceled due to the outbreak.
According to our aforementioned report, Swift took to her Twitter account in early 2021 to announce that she was unable to reschedule the show which was only postponed at the time.
“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the tourism landscape will look like in the near future…” Swift wrote in the announcement.
Almost two years after Swift had to make a “sad” announcement to her fans, all the frowns have now turned into smiles from a tour that will surely make up for lost time!
Since Swift’s final tour behind her sixth album “Reputation,” she has released four additional albums of material, most of which Swift has never performed live as of this writing.
Perhaps remembering all the material she’s never heard, Swift announced her 2023 tour will be known as “The Eras Tour!”
According to Variety, “The Eras Tour” will begin in the spring and end in mid-summer, beginning in March and ending in August.
Swift will be visiting 20 cities “over 27 dates,” with some special celebrity guests!
The outlet revealed HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers, MUNA, girls in red, GAYLE, Paramore, OWENN, Gracie Abrams, and beabadoobe will support Swift as the opening acts on the tour.
Swift Is ‘Thrilled’ To Announce Her Return To Life On The Road!
Swift also commemorated the big announcement on her social media account.
According to her Instagram and Twitter posts, Swift said “The Eras Tour” will be “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” and “The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as possible.” !”
He also gave a shout out to all his support acts, calling himself “the luckiest person alive” to have the opportunity to share the stage with the artist!
Swift ended her post by exclaiming “I can’t wait to see all your beautiful faces out there. It’s been a long time coming,” with a red face emoji!
Since the release of “Midnights” on October 21, Swift has released two music videos from the album, “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled.”
