Taylor Swift’s fans ‘Swifties’ may have to ‘buck it’ when it’s disappointing to realize the 32-year-old may not be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The rumors started swirling earlier today when, according to Variety , three sources allegedly close to the “Right Where You Left Me” singer confirmed she will be the guest of honor during the halftime show.
Indications that Swift could be the performer for the show seem to line up perfectly.
According to the publication, the NFL announced at midnight tonight that Apple Music will be a sponsor of the show. Midnight, of course, is a pretty special night for Swift fans; in case you missed it, Swift’s new album, available October 21, will feature songs she wrote specifically in the wee hours of the morning.
Swifties may remember their girl having a significant relationship with Apple Music in the past.
In 2015, Swift refused to allow her latest album “1989” to be available for its users to stream on the platform, as the platform had decided not to compensate artists for streams during the three-month free trial period . Shortly thereafter the platform reversed its decision. (via Stereogum)
Did He or Didn’t He Perform?: Examining the Theory of Swifties
With all of Swift’s love of staying up late lately, it only makes sense for Swifties to dig a little deeper and find out about the possibility of Swift headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Variety went on to detail in their report not only that Swifties allegedly started theorizing about a possible connection between “Midnights” and the night the NFL made their announcement regarding the Apple Music sponsorship, but brief specifics. about past sponsorships of the Super Bowl Halftime Show also do well under their metaphorical magnifying glasses.
The outlet also reports Pepsi has decided not to “renew its ten-year sponsorship of this year’s Halftime Show.”
Swifties in turn allegedly brought Swift’s sponsorship with Coca-Cola into the chat and began connecting the dots between potential connections. After all, we all know this lady loves a good easter egg!

MEGA
The prospect of Swift taking the stage during the Super Bowl Halftime Show ignited social media to the point where Swift was trending on Twitter.
Shortly after the buzz started dominating the ‘bird app,’ TMZ announced Swift would not be performing at the big event.
According to the outlet, they have communicated with “a source with direct knowledge who told [them] Taylor will NOT be performing at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.”
However, The Blast has learned Swift could potentially headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show at some point in the future!
A source said “Taylor will do a Super Bowl Halftime Show at some point in her career but it’s too soon to do it this year. She could easily put something together but when she finally does, she wants it to be around a new album announcement or a new tour. All of that will coming up, so we’ll see Taylor do Halftime someday but most likely in a few years.”
While Swifties may not get to see their dream of seeing Swift perform at this year’s major sporting event, they have plenty of excitement to partake in regarding Swift’s upcoming new record.
Swift is slowly rolling out the title track from “Midnights” on her TikTok account in a new series she’s calling “Midnights Mayhem With Me!”
