Certain elements of the “Anti-Hero” music video are believed to be “monsters on the hill” to some members of Swift’s loyal fan base.

The music video, which was released on October 21 as well, originally depicted a scene featuring Swift stepping on a scale, which clearly sounded “fat.”

According to The Blast’s report on the matter, some of Swiftie’s Twitter users believed the scene was a depiction of fatphobia and called on the “All Too Well” singer to make changes to the video.

Concerned fans start a conversation about video content on Twitter and expressed their concern about how the reception of the video had been met.

“When @lizzo has a word that is deemed capable in one of his songs, he apologizes and corrects it. Thousands of disabled people talk about it. Same with Beyonce. But Taylor has a fatphobic image and it’s ‘you don’t get it’ aimed at fat people?” their tweets are read.

Another fan pointed out that they were not surprised by the alleged depiction of fatphobia.

“I don’t have the emotional or mental energy to comment on the ‘anti-hero’ part of the scale, everyone is phobic until proven otherwise and as much as I like Blondie I’m not surprised,” they tweet.

The music video was later edited on Apple Music with the offending scenes removed. Some fans were unhappy with the change; Our report on the editing of the video shared that a fan who had expressed their displeasure with the discourse on social media asked for the scene to be restored.
