Singer Taylor Swift made her fans’ “Worst Dreams” come true by appearing at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
The “Red” singer walked the red carpet at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where “All Too Well: The Short Film” 2021, is nominated for five awards.

The “I Bet You Think About Me” singer, 32, turned heads as she walked the red carpet in a sparkling Oscar de la Renta gown made up of thousands of delicate jewels all stitched together to make her ensemble sparkle.

The Hollywood Reporter got an inside look at her look, reporting that the crystals were embroidered on a tulle mini dress from the Resort 2023 collection by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia for Oscar de la Renta.
The “Mirrorball” singer accessorized her look with diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and completed her look with Christian Louboutin’s Bombina Pampilla sandals in silver leather with crystal embellishments.

Although Taylor has been absent from the ceremony in recent years, her short film “All Too Well” was nominated for Video of the Year, Best Longform Video, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing. The fifteen-minute film stars “Stranger Things” actress Sadie Sink and “Teen Wolf” star Dylan O’Brien, who were also seen walking the red carpet.

The Video Music Awards tweeted a photo of Taylor’s look, calling it a “mirror of real life.”

MTV also name-dropped the short film and its legendary song, tweeting, “You’re freaking out about @taylorswift13arrival at #VMAstoo… I know everyone’s feelings are too good ❤️.”

A Taylor Swift fan account also recorded several videos of Taylor and Dylan O’Brien dancing to Lizzo’s performance at the VMAs. Seeing Taylor dance at an awards show again was cathartic for some fans, who commented, “Nature is healing.”

‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ Nominated For Five Awards… How Did It Happen?
Unfortunately, Taylor didn’t win all the awards she was nominated for. He won for Video of the Year, Best Long Form Video and Best Direction. In the Best Cinematography category, she lost to ex-boyfriend Harry Styles for “As It Was” and lost to Rosalía’s “Saoko” for Best Editing.

Taylor Swift Announces New Album After VMA Win
During her speech, Taylor thanked her fans for the fan-voted award by giving them a new album. “I decided that if you would be this generous, and give us this … I thought it might be a fun time to tell you my new album comes out Oct. 21, and I’ll tell you more at midnight,” he said.
“I am very honored to be recognized alongside such exceptional artists and directors in this category,” he said after receiving his award. “I just want to say that I’m very pleased with the fact that for the first time in VMA history the four directors nominated in the Best Video category are women.”
