Jenelle Evans’ son, Jace, has reportedly not spoken to her and her husband, David Eason, for over a month now.
According to sources, the 14-year-old has not communicated with the “Teen Mom” star since she was allegedly attacked by her 35-year-old stepfather outside a friend’s house on September 28. The teenager is said to be living with her grandmother, Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, in the custody of Child Protective Services.
Jenelle Evans And No Touch Son, Go Back To Live With Grandma
Jace has managed to distance himself from Jenelle since a judge ruled that the 31-year-old is not allowed to see or speak to her unless the relationship is initiated by him. As a result, the teenager returned to live with her grandmother in an environment that reportedly “felt like home to her.”
Living with his grandmother is nothing new for Jace who spent most of his childhood under Barbara’s care, although his mother regained custody of him earlier this year.
Meanwhile, his stepfather is allegedly subject to a complete and total ban on any interaction with Jace, according to a source familiar with the case. In case you missed it, TMZ had previously highlighted court documents claiming that David was charged with child abuse in a case involving the teenager.

In addition to alleging that he roughed up the teenager and caused “marks on the right and left side of the neck,” the documents show that Jace’s injuries were unintentional. In fact, it added that the alleged incident happened on the same day he reportedly slipped out of his bedroom window and ran away from home.
Elaborating on the story, The Blast shared that authorities began an investigation into potential child neglect, prompted by the fact that it was the third time in a month that Jace had run away from home.
The situation was further complicated when she allegedly voiced complaints to Barbara about David assaulting her, with some media outlets suggesting the police department and child protective services had video footage of the attack involving Jace.
His initial disappearance occurred on August 15, when he left school around 2:45 pm and did not return home. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department declared him missing, and he was eventually located “in a tree behind a school building” with the help of his location on the social media app Snapchat.
A week later, Jenelle reported her son missing again, revealing that she hadn’t been able to reach him for hours. Soon he was found at a gas station just ten minutes from their home.
While the reality star has been charged with child abuse, there is a possibility that the “16 and Pregnant” alum herself could face charges. Notably, Jenelle has publicly defended David throughout the ordeal, insisting that he was “accused of doing some horrible, horrible things — that’s not true.”
She added that her husband “just took all these punches, rolled with it, didn’t say s—. I don’t blame him, and I feel really bad for him because my kids adore that guy. My kids love that guy so much.”

In the first days after David was charged with child abuse, Jenelle took to her Instagram Stories to blast authorities for failing to do their job properly. He began:
“You would think that the Police would not do a one-sided police investigation. They do not conduct interviews, do not ask any information from parents. This looks like a very one-sided situation like every time before.”
After declaring that he “trusted the detective with all my heart,” he finished, “Forgot you can’t trust my stupid cop. I don’t trust anyone around me. Go MIA for a moment ✌️.”
Jenelle quickly reneged on her plans to go MIA, returning to her Instagram Stories within an hour to continue to insist her husband was innocent. And just like his earlier rant, he kept up his criticism of North Carolina’s Columbus County Police, typing:
“I believe the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department is the party that carried out the smear campaign against my husband and needs to be held accountable.”
The Oak Island native later revealed his interactions with police, pointing out, “Don’t give a f—s. Have the emails to prove it. An open investigation should be confidential under all circumstances especially when it involves children.”
Jenelle rolled, “Let’s go to court. I have been waiting for our day. I feel very violated by the system. Wait until the day you hear the truth … you will beg me not to prosecute.”
