Complaints for harassment
In 2021, Tejaswini’s sister-in-law filed a police complaint against him for harassment and torture. In the police complaint, his sister-in-law stated,
My in-laws physically assaulted me. My sister in law has threatened and assaulted me in the past. All of them have subjected me to cruelty in various ways. I have enough evidence that I will give to the police. I have full faith in the law and am sure that justice will be done. My in-laws insisted that I withdraw the complaint and not take legal aid. Our lives are at risk.”
In an interview, Lonari said that the complaint was not correct and that her sister-in-law was trying to take money from her. In the interview, he said again,
The whole case is false and baseless. I live in Mumbai and there is no way I can bother him. The case was filed against my parents and me, and she did not include her husband. My brother and his wife made false claims to get the property. We take care of their financial needs because the couple has no way to survive. However, in the midst of the COVID situation, we told them that we are no longer able to help them financially.”
