Texas has spent more than $124 million to bus migrants to New York and other cities: report

The state of Texas has spent more than $124 million to bus immigrants to New York City and other blue states.

The Lone Star State has dropped at least $124,603,616.19 on the bus program since April 2022, according to records obtained by media company Nextstar from the Texas Division of Emergency Management, which oversees the program.

The proceeds of the 100,000 immigrants who have flooded Texas have gone to the Big Apple, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles — stretching budgets and wreaking havoc in their wake.

Texas taxpayers are on hand for more than 99% of the cost, records show.

About $460,000 has been raised by the state in voluntary contributions by passionate local fans of the program, according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s office.

Migrants are transported from Texas voluntarily and do not pay the costs to be paid in connection with their transportation.
