A Texas teenager who suffered 90 percent burns after a horrific gas fire over the Christmas holidays has died, according to family members.
Ericca Hammond, the mother of 17-year-old Madison Lewis, announced her daughter’s death Saturday night, two weeks after the teenager was severely burned when a boy threw a pan of gasoline on the fire, Fox 4 reported.
Lewis, a senior at Jacksboro High School, was with his friends around a burning barrel when another teenager threw a pan with gasoline in it.

Lewis remained unresponsive following the incident and required at least four surgeries before he was placed in a medically induced coma at a Dallas hospital.
“There is nothing in the world that I want and need more than my baby girl to be healthy and living life,” Hammond told reporters at the hospital.
