Texas toddler attacked by crazed pit bull before dog blows front door off its hinges chasing family

In a terrifying scene straight out of a horror movie, a 2-year-old Texas boy was viciously attacked by a pit bull – before the beast then blew the front door off its hinges trying to get at the family inside.

The harrowing ordeal happened this week when Chante Wright-Haywood left her home in Austin to drop off her toddler son CJ at daycare on her way to work.

Wright-Haywood saw what she thought was another kid from the neighborhood out of the corner of her eye, which turned out to be a pit bull that ambushed her son in their front yard before she could find him, WKRG reported.

The violent attack was captured on their doorbell security camera.

The video captures Wright-Haywood screaming and fighting back, kicking the rabid mutt before seizing a hysterically crying CJ as they speed towards the house.

CJ suffered a small bite to his stomach, but their terrifying encounter was just beginning.

The dog gave chase, snapping and jumping at them as Wright-Haywood yelled for her daughter inside the house to open the door.

“You can hear that sound, try to get close to it [my son],” she said. “My daughter was able to open the door, and I just pushed her in…the dog was trying to get into the house,” she told WKRG.

Once inside, the predator clawed at the front door from the outside as Wright-Haywood and her two children desperately held the door with their bodies.

“The dog actually broke the door hinge off the (door) frame …,” he said.

“The kids and I put all our weight on the door to close the door to keep the dog out while I called the police and EMS to come.”

Wright-Haywood said the nightmarish episode finally ended when Animal Control showed up to capture the dog.

The mother of six said dogs being let loose on the streets had become a recurring issue in their neighborhood.

The identity of the dog’s owner was not immediately known.
