A temporary restraining order issued against “The Flash” star Ezra Miller was lifted after a court hearing on Friday, per Diversity. Last year, Miller was accused by a woman named Shannon Guin of harassing her family and also acting inappropriately towards her son.

The Daily Beastwho spoke with the 12-year-old as well as a neighbor who witnessed Miller’s allegedly erratic and angry behavior, wrote that the actor “made the children uncomfortable by hugging them and pressing their bodies tightly.”

Although no criminal charges were ever filed against the actors, the allegations, along with the harassment order, did not work in their favor as they were already the subject of controversy due to several other reports of their problematic behavior at the time.

The “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” star has been accused of breaking into their neighbor’s home in Vermont to steal bottles of expensive liquor. Although they claimed the incident was a misunderstanding, Miller accepted a plea deal that came with one year of probation and a $500 fine.

Taking to Instagram to express their joy at the news of the harassment order being lifted, Miller wrote, “I am encouraged by today’s decision and am very grateful at this time to everyone who has stood by me and worked to ensure that this egregious abuse of the order system protection has been discontinued.”

They continued, “Protective orders are intended to provide safety for individuals, families and children who are in danger. They are not meant to be used as a weapon by those seeking attention or fleeting tabloid fame or some sort of personal vendetta when there are people who really need these services.”

Miller then denounced how “unfairly and directly targeted individuals have been shown by the facts to have a history of such manipulative and destructive actions.”

However, in their statement, Miller went on to slam the media’s coverage of the story, claiming they were “recklessly” spreading false allegations about it. The actor also appealed to news outlets to stop “chasing clicks.”

They said on Instagram, “I appeal to members of the media who have recklessly spread false claims and failed to accurately report the truth and context of this story, to hold themselves to a higher standard and take the time to find facts, instead of chasing clicks.”

Miller later shared a “personal note,” updating fans on their well-being. The actress stated that they are still trying to preserve their “well-being” and try to undo the “collateral damage this ordeal has caused to me and those close to me.”

They concluded their statement by saying, “Finally, to all of you beings in this world who have had the great courage to see me through it all, and make it here with me – I’m going to spend a long time trying to explain to you what it is means to have your support.”

Miller had, earlier this year, issued an apology for their behavior. Through Diversity, the actor stated that they had begun receiving treatment for their “complex mental health issues.” The statement also read, “I would like to apologize to everyone that I have worried and disappointed with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the work necessary to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Despite Miller’s public apology and their decision to stay under the radar in the weeks leading up to the premiere of their superhero movie, “The Flash,” the film has seen poor attendance and is now on its way to becoming one of Warner Bros.’ biggest box office bomb in recent years.
