A gang of thieves stole at least 60 generators from former President Donald Trump’s National Doral Miami golf resort after breaking into the property twice in just a few hours on Monday — two weeks before it was scheduled to host the LIV Golf tournament.
Surveillance video showed a white Ford F-150 truck entering the resort’s maintenance area around 5 p.m. — which wouldn’t have been unusual, except the driver ran off 30 generators, police said.
“Incidents that happen during the day are unsafe areas,” Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez told WPLG. “These individuals posed as construction workers who were able to enter and gain access to the area.”

Security personnel were on site during both robberies, police said.
Police said they have not determined whether the burglars had help from the inside but said detectives have identified several leads.
As many as four people may be involved. Police say the thefts appear to be connected to others throughout Miami-Dade County.
“We’re not really, at this point, making any determinations, but we’re aggressively looking to identify these individuals,” Lopez told the outlet.
