‘Thin-skinned’ Meghan Markle ‘could never be a politician’: royal expert

Meghan Markle is too “thin-skinned” to be a successful politician, claims a royal expert.

Royal biographer Angela Levin suggested that a career in politics for the Duchess of Sussex, 42, was too far-fetched as she “held on” to her royal title “for dear life.”

“Meghan Markle cannot be a politician,” Levin told Sky News Australia. “He has a very, very thin skin, and he also needs to lose his title as I believe Harry too.”

“He’s hanging on to them for dear life, so I don’t think there’s a chance in hell that he’ll get anything in parliament.”

“It’s ludicrous to think that he can come in at such a high level. I don’t think there is a chance in hell that he will get into parliament,” he added.

The “Suits” alum has long been rumored to be eyeing a career in politics, with unconfirmed reports suggesting she’s been dating prominent Democrats since stepping down from royal life in 2020.

President Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, reportedly “endorsed” Markle as the woman she would return to the White House.

Last week, Markle was linked to the Senate hot seat vacated following the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

California’s Gavin Newsom has landed Democratic strategist Laphonza Butler on an interim basis while he looks for a permanent match.

Sources told the Daily Mail that in the minutes after Feinstein’s death, the phones were “buzzing” with speculation that Markle might appear to be appointed to fill the seat.

Yet despite Markle’s friendship with big Dems like Oprah Winfrey and the Kennedy family, there is little chance of a trip to the Capitol.

“Meghan is definitely a long shot, but in the frenzy of US politics today it’s not an impossibility,” a major Democratic donor close to Newsom told the news outlet. “Crazier things have happened.”

Newsom reportedly interviewed the duchess for the Senator position on Oct. 2020, when he had to replace Sen. Kamala Harris after she was chosen by Biden to run with him against Donald Trump.

Although she and her husband Prince Harry met virtually with the Governor of California, she ended up with another candidate for the position.

Markle’s rumored desire to jump into politics is not unheard of, as actors including Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan have tried their hand at politics in the past.

The bodybuilder, 76, served as California’s 38th governor from 2003 to 2011, and Reagan starred in several Tinseltown features in the 1930s before becoming the 40th US president.
