Three Colorado refs brawl at fourth-graders basketball game in wild video

This referee should be fouled with a technical foul.

Three refs at a Colorado youth basketball game threw punches and fought each other in the middle of the court surrounded by terrified spectators, shocking video footage shows.

The fight broke out during the fourth quarter of the fourth-grade boys game between Cherry Creek and Legend Blue on Saturday morning at Gold Crown Field House in Lakewood, according to a clip of the game broadcast live online.

Two of the refs walked towards each other aggressively as one of them swung before the third ran and tackled one of the pair to the ground — all within feet of the young player, the footage showed.

“Oh my god,” yelled a man off camera as the young player who was about to receive the pass backed away from the court and covered his mouth in shock.

Two men in plain clothes ran into the court to break it up. One holds the ref down as two other refs wrestle on the floor.

The couple on the floor got up and huddled together with each raising their fists before more onlookers – it was unclear if they were parents or coaches – stepped in to break up the fight, according to the clip.

A fourth ref, who was not involved in the fight, also tried to amend the peace.

A woman behind the scorer’s desk can also be seen in the clip running to a team of children to protect them from the violent scene.

No one was seriously injured during the altercation and “no children, coaches or parents were directly involved,” according to the Gold Crown Foundation, which provides youth sports programs.

The three referees involved have been suspended from the league.

“Through our internal camera system, we were able to identify everyone involved and our staff removed all three officers from the premises,” the foundation said in a statement to The Post. “We have notified these independent contractors that they are suspended indefinitely from working for the Gold Crown Foundation.”

The organization apologized to all those who had to witness “unacceptable behavior – especially children.”

“This is an unfortunate reminder that we all need to keep in mind the best interests of children and that our adult behavior plays an important role in youth sports,” Gold Crown said. “Let this also serve as a reminder to everyone that Gold Crown does not tolerate any adult behavior that endangers the experience or safety of children.”
