The actor is stepping into a new era for himself and that includes owning a new business. Mowry launched its line exclusively with Walmart and prides itself on being clean and sustainable. He chose to call the 4U line.
It focuses on hair that has “tangles” and “coils” and starts at home. “I’m proud of this formula that works for hair textures ranging from 2A to 4C.” she wanted to make her hair as simple as possible.
“It’s important for me to simplify my hair care routine or just routine in general when it comes to curly hair. I have three different textures in this house. My daughter has a different hair texture than me and so does my son,” share it exclusively PEOPLE online.
Tia Mowry’s Childhood Hair Memories Are Not Good
One of the reasons why Mowry wanted to create this line was because of her memories of doing her hair as a child. “Growing up with curly hair, the routine was always so much fun.”
Mowry grew up in the movie business and often had stylists do his hair. He still remembers in his house, there were so many bottles of products; one for this and one for that, same here, girl!
“You’re going to have eight different hair care products for all the different individuals in the household, and I wanted to make it easy. It was very important to me to create a formula that works on all hair textures.”
Mowry also wants to hold space in areas that don’t always make room for women with textured hair.”I feel like women of color and just women who look like me with textured hair we’re not always celebrated, part of, or included when it comes to beauty, it always leans more towards European standards.”

Tia, 44 went on to share that she experienced trauma to her hair as a child. He was bullied and harassed. “I remember going to school and I was picked on when it came to my hair, I was told that I looked like Buckwheat…They would call my sister and I Buckwheat twins.”
Children would abuse him and his sister with hurtful words and antics. “They’ll say that, ‘Oh, your hair is frizzy,’ or ‘Your hair is greasy,’ or ‘What’s that white stuff in your hair?’ Even though I was in my twenties after Kakak, Kakak, when I would audition, I didn’t get the role because of the costume director[s] said my hair is annoying.”
Because of this experience, Tia wants to make sure her products help women with patterned hair to be as happy as possible.

He gushed about his new venture to PEOPLE and what it will do for those who give it a chance. The product will “enhance your curl pattern without changing the texture or flow of your hair.”
It offers a clarifying shampoo, apple cider vinegar in a mix, seaweed, curling gel. There seems to be something for everyone who threatens textured hair. “Looking and feeling confident is very important, especially for our soul, I really believe in that, but I don’t believe that you should lose money.”
He also makes sure his products are affordable for everyone:
“I want to realize that curly girls or girls in the curly community don’t just buy one product. We have a routine. So when we go to the counter or register we have many products. Again it’s about the experience—feeling good about our purchase. Not only do we feel good about our purchases when it comes to finances, but we feel good about our purchases when they’re safe, they’re clean, they’re good for us.”
