Tiffany Haddish is thankful that she recently had a run-in with law enforcement officers.
According to a new report, the comedian and actor has opened up about being arrested for driving under the influence, calling it an “answered prayer.” Haddish, who was arrested after her performance at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles on Thursday night, made the remark during her subsequent comedy set.
Tiffany Haddish Has No Regrets About Being Arrested By Beverly Hills Police
Less than 24 hours after she was in police custody for DUI, Haddish took the stage to deliver a laugh. During her appearance at Long Beach’s Laugh Factory, the Emmy Award winner answered questions from audience members about the events of “last night” following her arrest Friday morning.
Although he avoided directly addressing the DUI allegations, he managed to turn them into a punch line, downplaying the situation. In the nearly minute-long audio of the conversation, the “Night School” actor can be heard joking about how the incident resulted in his prayers for a man in uniform being answered.

That excuse worked with the crowd, who laughed out loud when he recalled thinking, “Don’t slouch,” during the interaction. TMZ details that Haddish left her Long Beach show in an SUV, apparently having company and opposite herself earlier in the day.
As The Blast previously reported, the “Girls Trip” star was thrown into jail after she was found asleep at the wheel of her vehicle, with the engine running, in Beverly Hills. Although there were no fatalities, an unidentified person reported the incident to police around 5:45 a.m., stating that his car had stalled in the middle of Beverly Drive.
Upon arriving at the location, the Critics’ Choice Movie Award recipient was handcuffed by Beverly Hills police and taken to the police station. The actor is cooperating with the arrest and is expected to be released later today, facing a DUI citation.
Before this incident, he participated in The Laugh Factory’s 43rd annual Thanksgiving party Thursday night in West Hollywood, a free community event. This isn’t Haddish’s first encounter with a DUI charge; he experienced a similar situation in January 2022 in Atlanta.
At that time, Peachtree City police reportedly received a call about an individual found sleeping in their car. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found the 43-year-old man driving into the neighborhood.
For her latest encounter, Haddish is facing DUI and improper traffic stop charges. According to legal documents, he is scheduled to appear in court for the case on December 4.

The Empire Awards nominee’s police troubles come after he was hit with a $1 million defamation lawsuit by his former friend Trizah Morris. Morris claimed that the comedian dressed up his children and involved them in inappropriate sexual skits that were filmed in 2014.
She mentioned that although she is not close with co-defendant Aries Spears, her children consider Haddish like family and they affectionately call her “Auntie Tiff” to signify her.
It was later revealed that Morris wanted compensation for skits his children filmed with Haddish and Spears when they were minors. She claims that the Los Angeles native dressed up her children and had them participate in sexually inappropriate plays.
She mentioned an incident where her young daughter simulated oral sex and a moment involving a pedophile skit with her child. In 2022, his grown children dropped their lawsuit accusing the two Hollywood stars of child sexual abuse.
Haddish and Spears later denied any wrongdoing and called the lawsuit an attempt at extortion. Later, Morris’ daughter expressed her family’s support for the vixen’s “Girls Like You” music video, sharing:
“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us. We wish Tiffany the best and are happy that we all can forget about this.”
